guild halls hostile territory
atrossity
I know this is a beaten horse but...(the more its mentioned the more likely for arenanet to notice) why not make them hostile free for all territory? That way you can scrimmage with other teammates for practice and try out your skill sets, armor, etc. Guild leaders could set it to friendly territory if they are having meetings and such. Who is with me? I could spend hours testing different builds on my teammates.

I agree. I haven't been to the guild hall yet, but some of the things I envision are
1-free for all territory for the entire guild (with alliances possible)
2-vs. special monsters territory for training (perhaps a caged monster that can be freed)
3-large drawing board for strategy discussions
4-guild bulletin board
5-guild bank/storage
6-meeting area (which would contain the drawing board, bulletin board, bank and maybe an item merchant too.)
EDIT: it would be cool to also see a scribe at the guild hall that can tell you your guild rating, record etc. I realize that this is all available in a pop-up menu, but hell wouldn't having a scribe tell you these things be so much cooler?

A basic merchant and bank would be nice, too. (I don't know if it has these already or not. Don't have a guild hall. lol)

The training part is a brilliant idea, as the party of 8 can fight a specially-hard boss depending of the Party's Average Level, so it can drop good as well as give good XP towards character advancement.
I'm surprised no one has thought of a special Guild Crafter, in which people can get special crafts of weapons, armor and protection. Although this thought of mine may cause "Spamming", It would make the serious players look more different and diverse from everyone else

the guild halls are huge so there could and should be fully functional merchants, crafters, armorers, etc. I think the guild hall should have specialty items like a community chest so we could share weapons and runes etc with guildmates right now i've been looking for a particular guy for 3 days to give him a bow i found that he could use also i think you should be able to design a set of armor which would be guild specific just like the capes i really don't know why the guildhalls are so boring it's supposed to be the crowning achievement for a guild to get one and once you have it nobody uses it because there's nothing there there's definately room for improvement in that area

I agree. A merchant, weapons, and storage guy. But not only that but have them close to where you would spawn. Be very nice since you spawn other places and you have storage on one side of the map and merchant on the other

When I read about the possibility of guild halls I was hoping that they would have actual buildings. What I found instead was large open areas of unique terrain. Not many of the isles have a spot you can really consider a guild "hall." Still very cool, but imagine a structure you can walk into for gathering with guildmates to discuss issues.
Stur
So you can't PvP at all now on the guild island? I was under the impression that you could.
Shelvinarr
You can GvG on the Guild Hall island, but you can't openly attack anyone unless your guild is facing another guild, you may attack the opposing guild. I think what they're trying to say is, they want free PvP options on the island, like, you can attack fellow guildmates..or something of that nature.
Stur
Yes, um shame on you A-Net for not already allowing that. Put it in now, so says Stur!
ok would it help if I said please?
