Chat?

Ever considered integrating chat into the vbulletin forum? Enough of us are online at any given time to, I personally think, possibly put one in...thats just my two cents though

There's a number of active IRC chats available.
irc.gamesurge.net has a number of Guild Wars channels

#gwguru, of course. There's also #guildhall and #gwlounge among others.
If you're suggesting a Java-based or other chat interface built into the site, it's an interesting idea, although, personally, such things are usually pretty clunky. We have an IRC channel, I think I'd rather people just installed a client and used that. If they can't go through that minimal effort, do we really want to be chatting with them?

Once again, thanks for the help. Seems I'm a moron however, and can't get trillian to properlly connect to IRC. Thankfully, Mirc is only a few clicks away.

Personally I wouldn't get too stoked. I've been there a few times and theres been zero conversation. I did pop in once when there was a battle about what skill was better than my skill. Although a bit heated at least I saw some action in the channel. I use trillian too. What kind of problem ar you having?

I don't normally use trillian for IRC, and it seems they've changed a few things around since I last used it to log in (Trillian 2, not 3, which im on now) I fill in all the requirements and then goto join a channel, #gwguru for instance, and no window ever pops up....

I must admit the way Trillian works with IRC is kinda funky. There may be a better way.. but this is the way I make it work for me:
1. Bring Up Trillian
2. Click on the Grey Colored Circle and Select Manage My Connections
3. If you already have a guildwars IRC connection skip to step: 7
4. To create a Connection Click add new connection choose IRC
5. Put Guildwarsguru IRC in the first window
6. In the second window since I am in the US I put in:
irc.us.gamesurge.net::6667
If your not in the US you can put in:
irc.gamesurge.net::6667
7. In the next 3 windows is where you put your 'handle' or 'Nick' In my case I put in Darkmane. You can choose 3 different ones and if your handle is already taken it will default to one of the other two 'Nicks' or 'handles'
8. Click connect
9. Click Close button on the lower right.
10. Back on the main Trillian window click on the Little grey circle for IRC again and select status window.
11. That will bring up another window where you type in /join #gwguru
12. You should now have two tabs at the top, one for the Console and one for the gwgur chat channel, and you should also then be in the chat channel.
Hope that helps
