Membership in Guilds Account Characters

It looks like if one of your four Characters on your account are in one Guild the rest of the characters are automatically in the that guild. Is it so or can each charater on an account be in a different guild?

The characters are all on ONE server. Therefore, each character you make now becomes a member of the Guild. Also, signing in as an alternate will cause the Guild roster to change names, sometimes freaking the other members out ("Who are you?!" "How did you become Guild Leader?!").

Here:

* Same account = Same guild automaticly
* Same account = Same cape
* Same account = Same bank

Thank goodness someone finally figured this out and implemented it.

Being on the same server has nothing to do with it. It's just how they designed the game.

As for the last reply, was that sarcasm?

Personally, I think this is a terrible feature. If you want all your characters in the same guild, get invites. Otherwise, let those of us who don't want all our characters in the same guild have an option. I've got friends in two large guilds, it would be really cool if once in a while I could log on and chat with the other guild. Also, think about the RP side... It's really rediculous and I fully expect it to change with one of the updates/expansions.

It has to do with PvP ladder balance so don't expect it to change ever.

Do you have any details on how it would affect balance, or is that just something you heard?

From what I heard they didn't want to create any additional possibilities for people to join a guild for the sole purpose of spying. They didn't want people to steal tactics from one guild to use against them while fighting for another guild. In other words, they wanted players to be completely devoted to the guild of their choice and by restricting 1 guild per account they essentially made that particular choice all that more important.

Also, we might see a type of alliance chat feature added in the future that would pretty much make the need for different guilds on the same account rather unnecessary.

If you're that desperate to be in multiple guilds, buy a second copy of the game
