Kara's first in-game event: RP Meet&Greet on May 28th!

Well, I need something positive to bring my mood up, and I've had a couple of inquiries about when I'll make a roleplay event. This seems like the perfect time!

It's a little short notice, but I thought a Saturday would be good for most people. This will be an all-day event, so just drop by when you've got some time! Everyone is welcome, whether you regularly roleplay or not. Even if you're just curious or you want to come hang out anyway, please do peek in on this event!

When: Saturday, May 28th (with a possible follow-up event on June 4th, if people show interest)
Where: Yak's Bend, Internationsal District 1
Time: All day!
Event Type: A Meet & Greet- No set schedule or purpose, other than for those of us interested in meeting our fellow roleplayers to find each other and sit around the cozy fires telling our stories and chattering as we like.

If there is anyone willing to escort their fellow players to Yak's Bend at some point this week so that everyone who wants to come can get there on Saturday, please do say so in this thread! Likewise, if you think you need some help getting there, feel free to post here. Don't forget your in-game names so that the escort (and the people who need escorting!) can find you!

I may not be able to stay the entire day, but I will try to make it to the most busy times. My character is Lihana Dathi, and don't be surprised that although she's not shy she's actually blind. Just so you all know before you get there, your hostess won't be able to actually see you!

I hope to see lots of people there! I'll try to make this post on many different forums, but please feel free to advertize and quote this event as much as you like! The more the merrier!

I've seen a few Kara's... I have a character called Kara Bear, but that is the only Kara-character I have. Any other Kara's are not me!

There's a lot of interest in this event on other forums, I hope some of you guys plan to peek in, too!

Great to see someone doing something this. I was hoping to organize a RP Event myself in the near future, but I think this would be a greater jumping off point for the community to build off of. Hope to see everyone there.

We have a guild of actors who offered to prepare some entertainment for the day, and if anyone needs help getting to Yak's Bend, there are people on both The Guild Hall and GW Online forums offering assistance, so check those places out.

The event BEGINS in about 5 hours! It'll continue for at least 24 hours, but of course I'll be on tomorrow night until I can't keep my eyes open anymore.

I appreciate it, but it looks as though I won't be going. I was so fed up with the lack of RPing, I put my character on the backburner. When I saw this was going on, I tried to catch him back up so I could head to Yak's... unfortunately, it didn't work as I had intended.

Ah well... I hope to meet some of you out there at some point.

I visited several times & had a blast. Though I am sad that it is over. Oh well gives me something to look foward to.

Met a blind Monk, a aggresive Amazonian princess from Maguuma, a wine drinking pipe smoking Elem, a silver turtle Warrior( lol ), a couple of sapphic Monks, a crazy Elem that saw blood everywhere & many many more. The ale & wine flowed generously & the tall tales did too. =D Oh & let's not forget about the Enchanted Pig of Everlasting Roasting... it was delicious... though the smile on the pigs face kinda weirded me out.

Argh! I missed it!

Truth be told, I just ordered the game today. Been playing and programming MOOs (a form of social/rp MUD) since the age of 13 (7 years ago), and the advent of MMOs has really gotten me disappointed. I couldn't see spending $$$ every month when my primary interest is RP. Anyway, my brother plays, and claims that he is starting an RP guild, which is the only way he could convince me to buy the game. He's been at me to join GW since the beta, but I was concerned since I'm actually primarily an RPer -- I only do questing and adventuring on the side, or when there's nobody around to RP.

Glad to hear there are other RPers out there. Too bad this isn't a weekly (daily? haha) event or something... I would've really liked to be able to make it.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I wouldn't join any MMO unless there was the prospect of good RP. Alot of us hardcore RPers wouldn't.

We have the same history, but for me it was MUSEs rather than MOOs!
With that type of background, there is pretty much a guarantee you must be an avid roleplayer.
