This is a quite new technology, made for online games.
It makes extremely customised faces, which can be stored as only 138-byte packages, thus making it useful in MMORPGs/other online games with character customisation.
You can even create face from a simple picture.
If this could be simplified a bit (in terms of options), and then expanded to the whole body, GW would have great customisation.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will use it, and that game looks promising.

I don't expect this to be streamed, but maybe in a new chapter for GW?

Please respond to this.

that might not be reasionable for this game mostly because of the fact that this game has already been programed. not to mention that using that exact face morphing ability would mean that anet would have to pay Singular Inversions, whitch means that the price of the game or expancion would go up, but there is technoligy out there like that, like "the sims 2" whitch had extrodanary morphing ability. ( also there is the problem of security, if they used photos. )

And those of us that use masks? Rangers/mesmers...? they get screwed!, i don't know... personaly i think it would be kinda useless, considering, i'm not much of a person that likes customization (As long as my char looks cool).

But meh, elder scrolls is a different game, and if i recall... not an mmorpg... so i think they add things like that just to enlighten those that like to play games of the such (Me included, got hooked onto morrowind*So many houses i could rob, and it would put into memory everything i placed/dropped*)-(If only i took a screenshot of my perfect house)... lol

I yammered on, my bad... but anyhow, its a different game, and meant for a different purpose... If they're going to change anything about an mmorpg, it's more then likely gonna be balancing issues (pve wise more then likely, since pvp is Quite equal), lag issues, and problems such as the economy...

So, as it may be something that can be looked into, it's definately not going to be on their "To do." list for quite some time, if ever...

heh Zexion that would be cool (and ooh Oblivion does indeed look great ) It may well be a lot of work and I doubt they'd use that exact program (for the cost reasons already mentioned) but something similar would be great. After all as time goes on we're all gonna have ranger face 3 with ranger hair 4 etc... i've already seen 2 or 3 rangers identical to mine :P

Masks could be handled the same as now. You don't wear the mask in town, but wear it out of town. Simply covers up a lil bit of the face (e.g. nose and mouth for ranger)

It's cool, but having custom faces would require everyone to download everyone single character's face at every town/area they go to, swallowing up a lot of bandwidth in the long run even if the files are small. Since NCsoft doesn't make money per month like other MMORPGs do, this is probably something that is not going to be used. Oblivion can use it because it doesn't deal with the same MMO issues.

Only problem is that the heads there are around 6000 polygons without hair.It should be more in the 10's or maybe 100's range.

10s of polygons?
That's like what were in FFVII.
And notice I said they might be able to expand it to the whole body, so that mask thing shouldn't be a problem.
But OK, I now realise the license thing
