*yawn* Lets see at one point in time I had 78k, wen tand brought my armor, so that droped me to about 20k. I got back up to 50k before I gave 20k away to guildies. Subtract and add misc objects and such, I think I have gone through any where between 100k to 400k of gold, and I still haven't brought a guild hall or a cape. Hmmm I need to stop being lazy.

I have around 3k right now, but I just bought a sigil. I have alot of black/silver dyes and alot of rare materials, and rare weapons too though. Probablt around 200k networth.
Sir Skullcrasher
I'm poor, i only got 300 gold
Weezer_Blue
On all 3 characters... somewhere between 2.5 and 3.5 plat. yeeaaah... your 50th skill is costly...

This is the guy that posted the thread im still a 19 and have 33k and the fartheset ive been to so far is the Quarrel Falls.

I posted one week ago and had 600g.
In that week I've made approximately 7,000g in about 40 hours. That's 175g per hour of play. Guild Wars is by far the stingiest RPG I've ever played. I hope their update this week addresses this issue appropriately because 175g per hour is just plain not worth it.
I did upgrade my armor and I buy ID and salvage kits as I need them so I have just under 5,000g to my name. Other than that I don't buy a GD thing because I would like to get the Knight's Armor sometime before I die of old age. Forget the 15,000g per piece armor. I'd have to play 24 hours a day for 18 straight days to earn that much gold.

I'm nearing 500k, but I haven't bought a Celestial Sigil or any of the high level armor or runes. Basically I don't buy much of anything and sell most of what I get to the traders. Eventually I'm sure I'll splurge a bit on something (probably armor from the Fissure), but right now there isn't much that's catching my eye.
One tip for making money: hold onto your collectors items. They stack up to 250, and selling those for 8-16g a pop means a lot of potential cash taking up a minimum of inventory space.

This thread is getting a little long to post anything meaningful but I have about 50K. A few have asked how? Easy Pick up everything!!! I have went on runs with people who leave most stuff laying on the ground. 4 char hides = 1 fur = 200+gp there is alot of samples like this. I pick everything up and sell everything in town. Good items I try to sell / give away, most become merchant fodder, I can't sit there long quoting WTS. I had 3 black dyes in my vault at one time all pickups from my characters, I checked in with the Dye trader 4+K each. SOLD!!! that is 12K right there. I like to color things but I don't need black if I can fill the old coffers!!! My highest character 17 can average about a plat an hour of solo small henchie group. If I don't spend it I am saving it.
Castanza
I'm a lvl 19 R/N (mainly just ranger though) i have about 19k in storage and usually keep about 1k on each of my 4 chracters ( gotta have pocket change to pick up things from merchants)

100k and some misc. runes of various types and weapons that are somewhat variable. So about 200k or so. It's all going towards Fissure armor though.

Instead of bragging, I'll actually answer the burning question... how do I follow in your footsteps?
First, a note: You can get max armor for 1.5k each piece. You can find max weaponry from regular mission/quest hunting. There's nothing out there that you HAVE to buy to continue playing comfortably. It's all aesthetics or fine tuning.
Anyways, on to my method of acquiring a mass of wealth.
I suffer from a complex.. the 'turn over every rock you picky bastard' complex :P
I explore EVERY location I come across, especially since this is my first time playing this game. Also, I have a side project of checking all collector items for hidden properties so this gives me motivation towards farming.
Also, because I'm a picky bastard.. I prefer exploring alone so that I can take my time and see all there is to see (as well as go hide someplace AFK while I'm at work). This has a bad side in the sense that on extended exploration missions, I run out of room and have to start making decisions on what to keep or drop. However, it has the bonus of making sure that I get the loot.
Killing everything in sight is the main component, but just as important is picking up everything in sight. Especially stackable items. Even if it's junk, just pick it up. If you need room, you can drop it later. If not, sell it. It may be 5 gold but over time it adds up. I left pre-searing @ level 11 with 3 platinum.
Lastly, I don't waste my time trying to sell items for hours on end. I sell low to get it gone. I let the merchanteers do the selling work.
So, to summarize.. in order of importance..
1) Travel alone when you can.
2) Kill everything.
3) Pick up everything so you can sell it to the merchants.
3a) Swap out normal items for unidentified items when you run out of room.
4) If you have the mindset of selling everything to the merchant, selling items to other players for cheap won't kill you. The goal is to get it out of your inventory so you can pick up more items out in the field.
STATS: Ranger, farthest region is Bloodstone Fen, 93 platinum

Since the actual title of the thread is "how Much gold do you have," you can't really blame for people, you know, answering with how much gold they have.
Asrial, I found your little essay on farming to be interesting, but how has the patch affected you? Traveling alone ranked as number one on your list, but isn't that broken now?

Asrial is right on the mark!!! It is not hard getting money in this game!!! I would add empty bags before setting out! I have a couple of friends who salvage everything while out hunting. I have a tendency to just sell everything. They do have more money then me though, and most / all salvage items seem to stack. Just some food for thought

How do you people get so much gold
Scaper-X
Lessee. 170 platinum in storage, 10 platinum on each character. Then there's the alternate account...240 platinum in total?
But that's just liquid assets.

I think the biggest factor of my ability to solo is my pet. I have an 11 in Beast Mastery and with Call of Protection, I can prevent 11 'base' damage to my pet so he can help take some of the damage.
Also, I can be very patient at times. Evidenced by my ability to solo the Northlands in pre-searing.

My wealth acquisition is over time. I don't bam out 60 plat in a day of serious playing. I get an average of 3-4 plat a day just from exploring or doing missions or putzing around. One thing people may need to take a look at is what they're buying. My money is on a steady overall incline, with minor hits here and there. Buy smart too. Superior Vigor Runes are a joke. Fellblades, Storm Bows, et al? I'd rather get rich hunting for them.
The patch hasn't affected me in the sense of halting my rise to riches, but it has affected my farming for collector items. Usually what I do is when the creatures stop dropping items, I'll just find something else to do outside of the game. However, you'll at least get 500+ gold before creatures stop dropping items and like the 5 gold scenario.. 500 gold adds up over time.
