Definately would like to see two-handed Swords and Axes put into the game sometime in the future. Basically just for looks over effectiveness, just seems a little wierd they aren't in the game already.

Totally agree, there is no difference between 1h, 2h swords than you have between rods and staves.
The staff weapon normally has an extra energy stat to try and off-put the loss of an off hand item.
A 2h sword (axe) could have a minor Al bonus to make up for the fact your are giving up a shield etc.

It is more animation etc and the game was in beta long enough mind - so maybe it was something the devs thought was not worth holding the game back even longer for?

Dual weiding would also be nice, Yes you can hold a sheild, but wouldn't two swords(long sword short sword) be nice also. The game does need more diversity though. Everyone has the same, or near same armor. "Hey look, theres my double...wait theres hundreds of them"

Two handed sword? Interesting, I agree. How would they balance it to make up for the lack of a shield? I'd give it a slightly slower attack speed, but significantly higher damage -- maybe even some armour piercing thrown in for good measure.

Well, a two hander is generally longer, and overall weights more. A swordsman knows how to block or "perry" attacks from others with a sword of such magnatute. Several new skills could come out of this also.

Its overall bigger size and stature, with weight into play, would be causing some serious damage on a hit to hit basis. In other words, it has alot of stoping power. The attack rate would be abit slower but not that much slower as someone who is trained in using the swords(as a Warrior would be) would know how to use it properly correct?

One thing though, would be to limit it so that only Warriors in primary can handle it since it would require strength to hold maybe?? just an opionion.

I reckon that would be a good idea. Some classes don't look strong enough to lift a long sword, let alone a two-handed sword...

Two handed sword are easier to wield than one handed quite often. They tend to have a longer handle allowing for leverage while using them, and the ability to use the long handle to accelearate the blade reduces the need for a heavy blade. One handed swords like the falchion, cinqudeas, broadsword, scottish infantry claymore etc... rely on a weighty blade to acheive the penerating power, while a two-handed sword can achieve much more power with a lighter blade overall - the katana is a great example of this (though taken to a bit of an extreme), while even many of the european swords were easier to wield as a result of the two-handed grip. Yes, there were exceptionally heavy 2 handed swords (the german Zweihander styles are notorious) but honestly, having wielded a few broadswords, I'd have to say that a two handed sword requires less strength to wield efficiently (excepting of course light-weight swords like epee, sabre etc which are from a different time period anyway).

As to the "weighs more" statement, yes, they do, but not by huge margins. My various broad swords weigh in at about 3 pounds-4 pounds, with the weight being centered nearer or farther from the pommel depending on the style. One blade of mine I replaced the small pommel with a large brass one and it completely changed the way it wields, it's snappy and responsive wheras it was sluggish and choppy before. Of course, as a result it lacks the chopping force it once had. My two handed sword (I've only owned one, and it was technically a hand-and-a-half) weighed in at about 6.5 lbs and was easy to swing.

Mmm, that does bring up the point that there don't appear to be any two-handed pole-arms. No spears, quarterstaves, halberds or naginatas. Which is a bit of a shame, since I'd love to have one, myself, if only for the animations.

I hope to see these in an expansion. They could really add some professions with masteries of these types of weapons.
