As a Badger, I’m used to having a stripe down my back of course, but it’s only since starting to play Guild Wars that I’ve realised it’s bright yellow.
While Following a mission in “Green Hills” I came across “Rock Elementals” for the first time. If ugliness denoted threat rating, then these fellows would be the meanest kids on the block for sure. But as it turns out you can walk among them unmolested as long as you don’t make any threatening moves.
As my time was a little short I decided to avoid any trouble and make straight for my mission objective instead. Of course I had to experiment on one or two Rock Heads, just to see if my Ranger could whip them mano a mano. But that accomplished, I left them alone and they left me alone.
It wasn’t all to be plain sailing though as I was soon to discover.
A little way in I found myself peering over the top of a high cliff and the view was so nice that I found myself pausing to take it in. As well as shuffling as far forward as possible to better enjoy the scenery.
The impassable nature of some areas of the map, soon found me edging out to a point where literally the only way out was backward, with no access either left or right. It was at this point that the Rock Elementals decided to exact their stony vengeance for my ill manners earlier and completely out of the blue one of them snuck up behind me, blocked me in and attacked!
“So you want a fight eh?!! So be it!”
He was a big fella, but as Michael Caine once said, “You’re a big man, but you’re out of condition and with me it’s a full time job!” I was in no doubt that switching to my trusty sword I could whittle this mountain down to size.
Unfortunately I was not so confident about his four friends who were rushing over to join the fray! Two more big ones and two little ones and before I knew it I was at the center of a maelstrom of rock fists!
Being completely trapped all I could do was fight and hope for the best and for a while it actually looked as though I might pull it off! The fur and rock chips were flying but the rock heads weren’t having it all their own way as one by one they fell.
Finally only two large ones remained and your Badger stood defiant with his back to the precipice and only 18 health points to his name. Powering up my sword for the final onslaught I fixed the enemy with my best steely Badger gaze!
“LET’S END THIS!!!!”
Then deftly opening up my map I double clicked on the nearest city and teleported the hell out of that death trap!
I now officially hate myself and I don’t blame you in the least if you do as well.

All the best
Badger
