Lock up on exit - small but annoying

I have been playing GW since it was released in the UK in April this year with no problems at all.......... until this week, that is. Now, I can change character with no problems but when I come to close down the program I can't. I can get back to the log-on screen but when I use the X in the top right corner to come out of the program, everything freezes and nothing but a power shutdown resolves the problem.

I'm not happy in doing this as Windows tends not to like it much.

I dont have any problems with over-heating, often running the computer in the program for hours at a time.

This doesn't seem to be such a big problem compared to PCs freezing in-game, but irritating just the same. Any ideas anyone?

Have you tried to exit in-game (i mean without log-off to char select)

If this doesnt work, can you go to windowed mode? there you can try to kill the game (I should suggest the task manager)
