If you don't know what A.C.T. (Awsome Creative Team) is then you are about to learn. We put on plays in Guild Wars and are now putting on a brand new Skit Competition. Aurok and I have decided to host our first Skit Competition. There will be a 100 gold entrance fee and it will be in Lion's Arch International District 1 starting at 8:30 pm MST. All information for this event is found on our website at http://www.AwsomeCreativeTeam.cjb.net . As I said this is our first skit competition and we are hoping to get at least a couple teams in, the reward is all collect gold and a donation from Aurok and I (a large donation). Here are the rules:

1: We know the emots can be used inappropriately. If we see any such inappropriate behavior, the participants will be disqualified.

2: The language must be kept clean and rated G... Think Lion King.

3: No spamming to advertise your skit or gain party members. You can let people know, but don't be annoying.

4: If you are not interested in this event or the current skit, please do not interupt the play or event. There will be people interested and they have the right to enjoy the show.

5: Have fun!

6: If you are not having fun, see rule number 5.

I like this idea! It's really cool.
Some people might not appreciate it, but I love the time and effort put into making these plays.
I would do one myself, but as it is I don't have the time or creativity to make one. Maybe some other time!
Until then, keep up the good work guys and I look forward to seeing some entries into the contest this Friday!

interesting

won't the skit run kind of slow as people are typing out the dialogue?

ohhh.. perhaps there should be a couple "narrators" on the team that just type the story... and a few actors :P that would be fun
(anyone seen "Who's line is it anyways?")

I should let you all know a nice secret. The arrow keys can be used to scroll through past typed text, just line everything up and use arrow keys to tell the story.

This is a little bit off topic but, I found it quite funny (mainly due to my lack of a GOOD sense of humour)... But, "Skit" means "Shit" in Swedish.. And I had a rough time at the begining trying to understand you

Sounds interesting though.

LOL. The more you know! Well, I'm sure we will have some nice Skits is GW this monday, eventhough not many sweedish will show up. Dunno what to tell you, uh... You can call it a Play Competition, and I just hope Play doesn't mean something bad too!

I'm still waiting on payday and hence my cd, but props to ACT for pushing this forward... I won't be able to join, but I hope it turns out well, with lots of entries.

As far as getting through the text/typing issue... that's a creative problem to solve. The best way is probably to have a narrator.

Best skit would be a Guild Wars version of Leeroy Jenkins.

from time of posting, you still had an hour. But, it was ok. A lot of groups showed up, but a member would leave from the group and ruin the skit, it ended up just the A.C.T. doing two small skits. We hope for a bigger turn out next time, but it was a good audiance. Thanks for the support and understanding of those that did attend the event.
