Rezzing Woes

Okay, I am currently playing a healer monk. I stay on top of healing pretty well, but sometimes we get outnumbered or my group rushes the next mob while my Energy is still replenishing (or last night, after I was still rezzing the mage henchman) and someone will die. Why, while we are in the middle of a tough fight, will the dead person spam
rez me
rez me
rez me
I mean, for one, when I hit that resurrect button, I'm stuck in a mega long animation and CAN'T HEAL anybody else, which means, if I can't heal the rest of the team while I'm healing you, Someone else will die as well.
Secondly, when you are rezzed, your health does not automatically ping back to full the second you are rezzed, no, it comes back at about 1/6th, and gradually goes to full, now I can heal you to full but that's a lot better done AFTER the battle not during when you are getting pounded upon and likely to get killed again.
I can see how "battle rezzing" can work if you have 2 healers in a party, so you have someone else to manage the rest of the team's healing while that one person is being rezzed, but when I am the only one, it's just plain stupid.

I always get grumpy when I die, but never at the Monk. It's not their fault... and I always expect to get rezzed AFTER the fight, not during.

Monks are not supposed to rez stuff. That's everyone else's job, especially the War/Mo.

just wait until you try to rez someone on the bloodstone..
just use vengeance or unyielding aura on the complainer. you will spend only half the time rezzing as you would for other rez spells and he comes back with full health. then you can laugh maniacally as he says "OMGWTF??!?!?" as he dies again..

Actually, this is not a bad tactic. Using vengence (which I now almost always bring with me), can be very useful in keeping the battle going that much longer enough to catch up and win.
The KEY is that after 30 seconds (or if the enchantment is dispelled) the person who re-dies does NOT get any extra DP than what they got after the first death. Not a bad deal for 10 energy (cut in half with divine boon) and only a 4 sec. cast.
What IS funny, is the first time someone sees this happen. Someone died in my group and I used vengence on him, he bounced right back up... full health and such and we ended up winning the fight about 15 seconds later.
Well... I told everyone to STOP for a second so I can rez the dead person. They looked around, and someone says... "no one is dead". I said... wait 3 more seconds. BAM, guy drops dead, and I rez normally real quick. Was kinda funny.

Most of the time during my playing expierence that the more annoying aspect to being rezzd is when the monk STOPS healing the others to Rez me right in the middle of the Melee, then I pop back up, promptly get body-locked in and die yet again. So I encourage our monks to wait until the end of the battle or at least until the fight is NOT right on top of us before any rezing happens. We also encourage the monk secondaries to do most of the rezzing now anyway.

Personally I never start screaming or even asking for a rez in the middle of a fight.. Secifically because I don't want any extra death penalty and don't want the monk wasting time and trying which could be disasterous to the team. Wait until there is a lul in the action and it is safe.

I am so going to do that when I get there with my Monk.. (providing there's a troublemaker, of course )
I had a similar experience the other day.. it was my first one, and I didn't like it. (I'm only to Frost Gate and this is the first time I've played a healer Monk) A long story short it involved 2 El/Mo's who thought they were the spawn of Rambo. They split up from the party going a completely different way, then when they died, spammed "res me" while I'm trying to heal the Warrior who is having to tank 10 or so enemies by himself because the other Warrior left the battle to try and resurrect the 2 'renegade' Elementalists while the 5 guys are still lingering over their bodies.
"Forget keeping the monsters off the healer, I'm a Warrior, I can take 5 enemies equal to my level without a heal!"
After the enemies had been taken care of and I had 'danced' my way out of death while still trying to keep the not-so-idiotic Warrior alive, I resurrected the 2 Elementalists and.. they left the game.
Props to the Warrior who wasn't psychotic though, he ended up doing 80% of the monster slaughtering by himself, and we finished the mission with just the 4 of us.

Again... THIS is why I like vengence... especially when I am the only "primary" healer. IF someone dies, I spend 4 seconds (not TOO bad) and vengence them. This helps me in 3 ways...
1) There is now another body back up and fighting from FULL health again, hopefully helping us win.
2) THERE IS NO death penalty for dying under vengence (just your original death)
3) NO MORE whinney people begging for rezzes in the middle of a fight.
WIN-WIN-WIN.
I highly recommend it.

The only rez on my skillbar is rebirth and it's only there for emergencies or to pull someone out of a hotspot if they weren't supposed to go that way.

Are we talking about Raising? =\

Primary Monks use Vengence and Unweilding Aura. Warrior Monks use Restore Life.

It's a quest skill you can get later in the game, also capturable by a few bosses who do use it around their "allies" or baught down the line.
Now, I will say this much... vengence is great, but you have to understand that it IS an enchant... so IF the enchant os canceled by some spell (like mesmer foes have) then the person dies right away. Also, after 30 seconds, the persons dies. BUT they have no extra death penalty for it.

Here are my thoughts on the subject
1)You should never spam "rez me!" in the middle of a fight
2)If you're party doesnt notice you're dead (amazingly enough it happened to me once) then you type something along the lines of "I'm still back here... Dead..." and ping you're location
3)I agree with you guys about not using any ressurection spells during the battle
4)If the person who died didnt listen and was a loner and ran off doing what you're not supposed to do, just dont ressurect them leave the poor bloke dead!

I definitely recommend either Vengeance, or travelling with party members intelligent enough to realize that your Monk cannot heal and rez someone at the same time (ie W/Mos with Resurrect/Vengeance).
Newbies are common in games. Don't let their insults get you down and don't listen to them if their 'advice' is detrimental to your party (ie rezzing someone when it's not appropriate.) However do try to be situationally aware - there are many times where rezzing a player during combat is not only a viable move, but a party-saving opportunity (since that player comes back, uses a self-heal, and starts killing the very mobs which are busy killing the party in the first place.)

Mr. Matt
I heard someone doing that once. It was in the first Arena in Ascalon City, the one for newbies under level 10. Our team hadn't done very well at all. I was the last person standing, and we hadn't killed any of the enemy team. So I, a lone ranger in every sense of the word, stood my ground against impossible odds. They weren't going to kill me without a fight. I took down one of their Elementalists before they finished me.
While fighting against these overwhelming odds, all I could see on the chat window was 'REZ ME! REZ ME! REZ ME! REZ ME!'. The fact that there's no way in hell I could get near to his body (he'd run off on his own, unsurprisingly) without dying anyway was made only more amusing by the fact that I didn't actually have a skill equipped that would allow me to resurrect him. When I finally died and the team lost, he just screamed 'STUPID ------- IDIOTS!' and logged out. :/
I'm guessing that they're the sorts of people who aren't worth your time.

It's easy to say that, but it was my first time in the arena. I'd only even partied twice, for the two missions that required it in pre-searing. Even if I'd equipped it I couldn't have gotten near the guy, he was too far away.
None of which excuses his obnoxious behaviour, anyway.

What I hate even more that people spamming "rez me!" right after their deaths are people that just drop out of the game even when I write in the middle of the fight "No prob, I can rez you"...

even worse is when you are in the middle of a tough fight and someone says HEAL. Well duh I'm healing like a mad thing trying to keep the whole team alive so I HAD noticed you needed healing.
Next time someone does that I'm going to start saying "Hit that one! Harder!"
Fantras
Nah, this is how you do it. When someone starts spamming, "OMG OMG HEALZ HEALZ!!!" That's when you say, "But I am a damage dealing monk. I didn't bring any healing spells." Then watch them lose their damn minds.
