Unlocking Items

Can anyone offer a detailed explanation with examples as to how unlocking "account items" works?

if you mean fo the preorder items, they will simply just appear in your inventory of every character on your account at game launch on april 28th(27th for preorderers)

I'm guessing you mean items unlocked in PvE for a PvP characters use. Right now, no one can say since we havn't seen the new inventory and account changes (nor have we seen the 'unlocking' changes) so we can only give you our best guess until at least the April Beta.
I have a few guesses:
1. You can take an item from your inventory (be it a specific character or your account) and add it to a 'PvP inventory' to use. (this is my best guess as i'm asuming, from what i've heard, that we will have an inventory associated with our account)
2. A list of items available to your PvP character will increase as you find more items.
3. Specific PvP items may have to be found in PvE.
4. 'Blank' items will be available to your PvP character and modifiers found in PvE can be added.
5. When you find an item, you select 'make available in PvP' or similar.
6. A list of all the items you have ever acquired will be available for you to choose from in PvP.
These are all possibilities, but they may all be way off the mark of what the developers will actually implement. I guess we will just have to wait and see...
