A New Type of Guild Hall
Rich Baldwin
There are many PvE guilds that are interested in having a Guild Hall for the purposes of GvG battles. I think, however, most PvE guilds are much more interested in having a Guild Hall so all their members will be able to meet in one central location to chat or before going off on adventures. I'd like to see a type of Guild Hall that can be obtained much easier than the present Guild Halls, that won't cost a fortune but that would not allow a Guild to join in GvG battles. The same Guild could upgrade this Guild Hall later on by using a Celestial Sigil, but this would create a cheaper cost alternative for Guilds that might not want to play PvP at all, and want a Guild Hall for RP purposes or to collect players for adventuring.

An interesting thought, but I'd rather see just more guild hall options...
PvE players can easily farm all that gold, and when I checked tonight the sigil trader actually had a sigil (around 84k)

Collect players before adventuring? Because none of you are able to use the guildchat channel and must all convene at a central location (that absolutely cannot be a town, or landmark, or... mission...)

Last I checked it was 96,000 gold or so for a sigil at the trader... you've got to be kidding me if you think a guild of 8 people can come up with this when they don't play all the time.

Get to level 20, work well, and I hear youc an easily make 10 plat (10,000 gold) in one morning. Get your buddies to do the same, you got your sigil over the weekend.

12k a person? That's maybe an hour and a half of gold farming per person if you're not being particularly efficient.

Anyway, I don't think that was the point of this thread...
It is a VERY good idea, I believe. We don't even USE our hall for GvG, just things like guild meetings and trading and what not. We didn't have to pay for ours, but it would be nice if people who didn't GvG a lot (like smaller guilds) could aquire a hall for cheaper. They would be different halls, of course. Great idea.

It would be great if there was an editor that would let us design our own Guild Halls.

It would indeed be great, but Anet is insistent on no player content... then again, perhaps it could be like civilizations3, where you get to choose from templates and add stuff in game. Perhaps we could get PvE or PvP or GvG rewards that add to our guildhall design.
Win a battle, get to choose from several statues to place in your hall. Win 2 in a row and choose from several statues that actually do something. Beat certain missions (guild hall designated missions) and you could get a certain Mob to be caged up in your hall as a practice Mob to fight.

Wow. I just made an almost identical post. Hadn't seen this one yet. lol. I am all for the idea of a newer type of Guild hall for RP people who don't have the full size guild for PvP (or are just RP) and are mostly looking for a place where they can meetand have a centralized bank, etc. (without the PvP)
I agree with you. I looked at my character age last night. 90 hours in the last 28 days. (I've been taking it real slow and helping my guild buddies level as well as rolling new characters) I finally hit level 20 last night. lol. (can hear the flames coming)
My point is, a small guild of people who don't really play all that much or have the numbers to just PvP aquire a sigil is pretty much SOL for a long time. A smaller type of Guild Hall would be perfect for them.
