q about char select/create screen

on this screen at the top right where the minimize, window and exit buttons are, there's a yellow Z with a fluctuating number. Is this ping? If it is, what is a good number and what is a bad number? If it isn't then what is it?

That's the streaming update, a download that occurs so the game doesnt have to be taken down to patch. And it's a lightining bolt.

It has nothing to do with ping. It will only appear when there is something for you to download. It's just a headsup to you that the game is doing something in the background. Like Fultz said.

sweet... I play at a pc cafe and it's usually pretty low... but I logged on tonight just to check something out and it was at like 28mb... PING??? OMFG!!!!
