Yesterday, I was told about "xFire", a program like AOL's chat by fellow guild members, that is useful for Guild/ Team members to have to coordinate.
Supposedly, it also keeps some stats for ya.
But I'm a bit reluctant to download anything 3rd party for Guild Wars. Has anyone else heard about this?
And is it any better than the chat team/guild feature already part of GW? Seems to a be a bit redundant to me.
xFire?

Everyone uses xFire! It's great for FPS games because it allows you to hook up with your clanmates/friends on random servers. It's nice for GW in particular because it allows you to chat a friend/guildmate without using the rather lackluster in-game interface to communicate with them.

XFire is a highly reputed program. It has inherent support for the majority of FPSs out there. I don't know if the time tracker works with Guild Wars, but it tracks the amount of time you play certain games. This function is built into Guild Wars with the /age command though.
If you need a program to talk to clanmates, xFire could be it. I don't know if you can voice chat with it though, so you may want to look into TeamSpeak if that's what you need.
