Advancement Question

I currently have a lvl 17 war/mo. He is my primary character (only character, actually). I have completed the Aurora Glade mission, but am wondering where I should proceed from here? Currently, I am in maguuma stade. I want to start getting decent items, seeing stronger mobs (if that is the appropriate term in GW) and get closer to finishing the game. But I am not sure where to proceed next, or which mission will advance me to the next stage of the game. Can anyone suggest an area to advance my character in? In particular, where loot (preferably purple or gold equipment) is decent and exp is equally plentiful. Thanks for any suggestions rendered.

There should be a quest which will take you to the next mission which will then take you into the crystal desert and MUCH harder mobs. There you do your assention.

Thanks for the information. Do you happen to know which quest it is? I just passed riverside province into sanctum cay. So, I hope I am getting closer to the crystal desert.

You just need to do the mission in Sanctum Cay if you've made it there. After that, you'll arrive in the Crystal Desert.
