Hi there, I could use some advice on my toon

I apologize if I'm duplicating any info ( i check. just not super thourough)
I run a bit of a nuker mez. I'm lvl 10 Mez/Ele:

I could be a touch off, but my points sit something like:

7 casting speed
5 Domination
4 Fire

The rest of my points are kind split between saved and having 1 or 2 in the odd spot to improve the odd spells I might use. I just learned recently the "respec" points regen so I'll probly drop those out.

In PVE I mostly hang back. Open up on mobs with that rain of fire spell .. then use that -15 to casting and hit them with a chaos storm(vortex?) essentially I run dots on them as constant as possible while pummeling anything important with flare.

I have a few problems keeping mana up but it works pretty good. I can thrash a group of 3 critters in a fairly big hurry. I have only had the game a week and played it a couple days so I'm learning ... for instance I can appearantly steal mana, which isnews to me. I plan on working that out. I havent played a straight elemenatal guy to compare but from my "seat of the pants" impression I absolutely wail on things.


When its all said and done I hope to run a 6 casting speed 10 domination,
10 fire. Maybe a little earth for when I grab agro. I was wondering how agro works in this game. When I get cranking and manage to lay a couple of DOTs on the critters and wail with flare they seem to get really unhappy and try to chew on me. Is there any way to avoid this? Perhaps a " I'm sneaky" mez skill that convinces the charr I taste bad?

From what I can collect its best to focus points on a few things rather than spread them out over everything. Anything obvious I'm leaving out that once I hit 20 will make me wish I had known? I'd hate to get there in another week or two and discover I did something horribly wrong. That is the best way to learn, I am unfortunately a poor student.
