umm, sry if this has been asked yet..but i looked (not that hard) and didnt find a post about it so...

after you buy the game (49.99) do you have to pay like a $10 monthly fee? or is it free to play online?

and im not sure if i want to buy the game yet.. so i want to try out the beta.. so can anyone please share their key with me for the final beta on april 15?... this is taken from the official site...

well there is NO monthly fees EVER! thats the great thing about this game, and you probably got the 10$ from, if ppl like you just want to try the game they can pay 10$ for a pre-order package and try the betas, and if you like it that money is reduced from the final product price, so you could pay for the preorder, but remember release is only like a week later, but it wont hurt because the price will be reducted anyways, lol, well hope this helps.

Ya ther will NEVER be a fee to play, but there are (optional) additional chapter comong out every 6 or so months that cost about 50 and add as much as the first one, but you dont need to buythem, it just adds more choices and variey. as for the BWE key, there is a thread for that in the Venerati's Sell forum

Ok, let me get this straight... you READ the FAQ... but you were unsure about the lack of monthly fees?

Questions like this really confuse the hell out of me... either way, no, there are no monthly fees ever, as has been stated numerous times on numerous sites by numerous people.

It's ok... It's just an extraordinarily frequent question, one that's been debated and discussed ad nauseum. (If you don't know, that's Latin for "until we're ready to throw up". ^_~)

No, it's a good question, and one that deserves being answered to your satisfaction. Don't be afraid to ask any others (Just make sure you research it very thoroughly, or can be relatively sure it's a new question.)

The only thing you have to pay for is the game itself. There will be NO addtional charges (excluding you internet bill, your computer, the chair you sit on, etc.). There will be expansion packs, but you don't have to buy these to keep playing, they will offer some cool stuff like more areas to wander in, items, missions/quests, and the like, but no one's saying you must buy any of them.

Does this explain things to your satisfaction?

I'd be glad if a mod would sticky something about Guildwars "fee" so we won't have to see topics like this every 2 days Not complaining just suggesting...glad that new people join the forum

How about this thread that is sticky and says "New Here?, Read This" I am complaining. There is a reason EVERY forum that you will ever be a member of will insist that you do a search and read the faq prior to posting.

True... but however annoying it gets, one shouldn't blast the newbies (at least until you know they know better) because we were all newbies once and we all made/make newbie mistakes. All blasting them does is make one seem unaproachable for when they have a question one would like to answer.

Better in the long run to let the annoyance slide and direct them to the info the need/want, I say. (But that's just me.)

sry guys, again... i know its annoying when u heard it a million times... i just wanted to make sure cause i luv these types of games but i have no $$$ to be paying monthly fees so i just wanted to hear from the ppl that this was true... thanks again for the info... and im still looking for a generouse giver/sharer, watever with a key that i can use...

Well, thsi is a different type of ORPG. Don't let that scare you. Its all different for the better. It is very fun. Never not. And its only $5-10 to pre-order it. And that money is taken away from the price of the game when it is released so you are basicaly paying part of the game's release price early! And there are no monthly fees. And when they finnaly do come out with another cahpter (expansion) It shouldn't be too much and won't be required. Enjoy Guild Wars!

If someone found that the final beta was April 15th, they are responsible for all basic information found in the faq. That is all I am saying here.

Honestly, it sounds like a poor excuse for a poll. Post a question about the monthly fee with a fake name and see who flames you. That is a good way to judge if people know that there is no monthly fee.

The GW site states the *chapters* will contain approximately the full game content of new material and be priced as such

that means about 50 dollars per *chapter* which is not required to continue enjoying what you have already purchased

it will not be a small 25-30 dollar expansion
