Diablo 2 then Diablo 2 LOD. After the new patch I quit because they took all my items away, and that game was all about items.

As far as MMO's...

UO (5 years), DAoC, AO, CoH, PlanetSide, AC, and currently WoW. UO was by far the best game out of that list... well... back in the day before EA ruined it. WoW is a great game, but their server stability is really starting to ware me down. When you can only play 1-3 nights a week, it sucks when the servers are down 75% of the time.

Guild Wars has the potential to be a great game, and I am absolutely stoked about it coming out (30 more days!)

As for normal games... way too many to list.

I too come from WoW, and agree that is a really great game, but i do not agree with you when you say you only get to play 1-3 nights a week. My guild raids MC/Onyxia everynight from 7-12 or so. I haven't preordered GW yet but WoW is starting to turn me off considering there is no content left til Battlegrounds (summer '05 :[ ) so i decided to start reading up on GW and ill be getting it soon .

I meant that I only get to play 1-3 nights a week because of other commitments like school and work. Plus, I play on the Azgalor server which has been having a lot of problems in the past few weeks. For example, I would be playing right now but it's down. Would have been playing last night, too, but it was down then, also.

Did for about 20 minutes, then found out that it wasn't any fun, and it didn't run well on my computer.

Maybe I just wasn't used to it, or maybe it's because I'm used to the Guild Wars controls, but it seemed that the game responded oddly to commands, and it was awkward to try and do basic things like talk to people. But Skizzle would know more than I would, so most likely he'll hit you with some knowledge that will blow my analysis away.

No way to list all the games I've played... I'm an old fart...

The first video game I ever remember playing was pong in the early 70's when there were no personal computers... even before Atari or micro-soft existed and it was in some lab in the desert near Palayus, New Mexico. I think I was about 13 and the computer was the size of a small building with banks and banks of tape drives... it's kind of surreal when I think back to it, especially when you think about a palm pilot having more power than could ever be sucked out of that monstrosity....

Hmm... That kinda beggs the question of how old people are who play GW. In my old CS clan, I was one of the "older" guys, and I'm only 25. 0_o

The first game console I ever had was an Intellivision. I remember playing black jack and poker on that thing - it had these little control sleves you would put in the controler to tell you what button to press to do what. lol My dad would try to play this "kill the alien" game and he would jerk the controller around like it made him move faster. It didn't. :P

I play a lot of different games. The ones interesting to GW people would probably be Diablo 2, Dungeon Siege and Morrowind.
Morrowind is probably my favourite game of all time. (Monty Mole on C64 would run a close second though). Every few months I get back into it. (Morrowind, not Monty Mole). I even bought it twice! (The second time with the bundle with both expansions).
I don't have much experience in online gaming as I have a 56k connection and I abhor monthly fees, but I played Silent Death when it was in free Beta, Tribes 1 and Gunbound.

I go way back......
Played Star Wars X-Wing Fighters at the arcade had the highest score on the machine for months, I'm still very proud of that! Also had the Atari Pong then the Intellivision. Played paper D&D, then got an Atari 2600, played Sundog and Dungeon Master (both were great games which I wish someone would re-release) and Ultima.

Played some Nintendo, did all the Zeldas til the present and the first few Final Fantasies.
PlayStation2 - Dark Alliance I&II, Champions of Norrath and Gauntlet

Diablo both I and II (single player and online), Warcraft and Starcraft (single player), Ultima Online for 2 months, didn't like it. Sims 1 & 2. SimCity all 4.

And right now while waiting for GW to start Sacred (single player).

Started out with consoles and a huge fan of Sony ^_^

PS2 my favorites
GranTurismo, Devil May cry, Resident evil, Final Fantasy, Kindgom Hearts,
Metal Gear, Socom, Tekken

Then I became an addict to MMORPGs. The 1st was EverquestOnline Adventures followed by Final Fantasy 11. Hmm I think I lost 2 years of my life because of these 2 games. So addictive ... but luckily I manage to recover ^_^

Currently playing GranTurismo 4 and Socom 2 and soon Guildwars, if it will run on my laptop (O.o)

ALOT of RPG's. Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate (1 & 2, I love that series), Morrowind with all the expansions, the Thief Series, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain...on and on and on...

What I am turly interested in however, is what are people playing NOW. Ever since I tried Guild Wars back in march i've had one hell of a time finding another game that kept my interest like it did, or that was as challenging. Point and Case: I got Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone the other day. Beat the damn thing in like 6 hours.

It's getting increasingly difficiult to find decent games that'll last weeks on end. The only ones that did that for me were the Baldur's Gate series, and Deus Ex 1.

Started off with Pong. Simply because that was the only game out there at the time..
Then off to Space Invaders (well, apple invaders) on an early apple.
Through such timeless wonders as Chukie Egg, Frak, Elite..
Slowly the RPG games came out (Bard's Tale, Ultima etc.).
Mustn't forget the early 'multiplayer' games such as nethack. I know, not much multiplayer, only in town, and only limited, but...
X-Pilot was a blast!
Roleplay games have always been my forte, as I've been a pen & paper roleplayer for over 25 years now..
Played all the Elder Scrolls (and thought they were great for the days), Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Thief, all the ID games to date (I remember when Wolfenstein first came out.. The sheer shock of running round a nice 3d environment! Then when you got the step movement in Doom1!! Can remember just sitting in awe!).

For me, the thing that really keeps me coming back is a game with story.. Thus the roleplaying games. Nothing beats a good story (one reason why I'll always play the Final Fantasy games).
For the online games.. EQ, which I've been playing since release (although not much these days.. I find it too easy.. It's just doing things by rote.).
Ryzom looked interesting, but not enough to hold me there..
Got the demo of GW, and ended up hooked..
It's looking like a cross between a nicely balanced multiplayer game and a story! My favourite combination.

Ultima I on the Apple II was my first experience with computer gaming. Completed ultimas I-V and then broke from it to do the serious stuff--putting my Fortran experience with an Itel (Yes Itel) AS-6/IBM 360 mainframe with card reader to use. Of course we played a text based fortran programmed Trek game on the mainframe, and yea the boss couldnt' find--it is amazing what those extra platter tracks can do .

Then there was the Master of Orion-Sim City phase, everything past the first Master of Orion was horridly ill thought out.

More recently Warcraft II-TFT. Warcraft III was my intro to online gaming, I played it for a few years, not very successfully--best apm was around 150.

*Edit* Exile Escape from the pit series of stand alone rpgs

And most recently conqueronline and runescape. These last two are spyware infesters and very hack prone so be careful not to have a downed system by GuildWars release should you check them out in the meantime

Anyway, GuildWars appears to be THE next iteration of computer gaming, some aspects revolutionary, most evolutionary, yet, not just a step but a leap so far as the method by which a game pulls the player in. I look forward to playing it for some time to come.

I remember a time when the cartridges for the 2600 ran a good $26-$50 each. Evrything from Adventure and Haunted House to Maze Craze... Today I can get the same games in the Joystick for $19.99 which includes like 4 games.
The Legend of Zelda starting with the first.... Stopped at getting the Gamecube.
Played online starting with Starsiege moved onto Tribes 2, Played Freelancer as the latest. I tried tribes Vengance But it is lacking in something.
I loved most of the community in T2 and you needed lots of teamwork. I have played most of the usual Command and Conquer, Eampire Earth...
I have the Starwars BattleGrounds, Battlefield 1942 yada yada yada.

Love the Community here in Guild Wars. Hope it gets better when the retail comes out.

Ex PC Games : Starcraft, Diablo1/2, Warcraft 1-3, Baldurs gate 1-2(with expansions) Ice Wind Dale, Runescape, City Of Heros, Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest(just original never got into 2) Mu Online, Conquer Online, Kal Online, RYL(still play this from time to time, but dont pay <3 14 day free trials) Divine Divinity(not well known but i think i saw 1 other person who listed it, great Diablo 2 rip off XD)

Ex Console Games :
GameCube : James Bond 007 Agent Under Fire( was addicted to this for months), Sonic Adventure Battle 2, StarFox Adventures

Playstation1/2: Final Fantasy 6-X-2(NEVER play X-2 it sucks and ive played the older ones too but those were on NES and SNES and im not even gonna start my NES and SNES list) Beyond Good And Evil, Jak 2(just beat this 2 days ago im so proud <3) Tekken 4-5, MDK, Legend Of The Dragoon, Armored Core 1-3, Soul Caliber 2, Chaos Legion

Very little, since they're being total stooges when it comes to giving us info :P But from what I hvae seen it looks bloody amazing. Its another RPG (aside from guild wars) that im REALLY looking forward too.

And Blood Omen 2 is out on PC now if I recall, I played it on PS as well, but I do recall having it for PC for a spell, but the controls were just bleh..since it was ported.

As far as consoles I've had Atari 2600(the old mock wood panel one), Atari 2800, Sega Master System, Nintendo, Turbo Graffix 16, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, Game Gear, Atari Lynx, N64, PS1, PS2, Gamecube.
Played nearly every rpg I could get my hands on from the original Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior. Played D&D/AD&D for 11 years, text based muds for 6 years, Dark Age of Camelot for 3.5 years. Also played live action rpg's such as Amtgard.

Console-wise: Started with the Atari 2600. But that was so long ago I can't even remember what games I owned. Blasted old age. The memory's the first to go... Then I moved to the NES. Was given the original Final Fantasy as a gift, thus beginning my love of RPGs that endures to this day. After the NES, I upgraded to the SNES and the Sega Genesis (Shining Force!), then from there to the PSX. Too many RPGs for that system to name (50+ titles, at last count). Recently got my hands on a PS2, but I haven't been able to acquire any decent RPGs for it. The only one I have being Suikoden 4, but I was rather disappointed with it compared to the first two, which I loved.
PC-wise: My experience here isn't quite so extensive. I got my first PC back in the early 90's. Don't even remember what my first game was, but I'm nearly positive it was an RPG. Like many others, I loved Baldur's Gate. The second one and its expansion. Unfortunately, I've been unable to acquire the first one. The same goes for Icewind Dale. I have the second, but not the first. One of my all-time favorite PC RPG series is Might and Magic. I own nearly all of them, from 4 all the way up to 9. I'm less interested in the Heroes offshoot, since it's a strategy game and not an RPG. Then there's The Elder Scrolls. I own all three, and still get the urge to play Morrowind from time to time. Greatest game ever, in my personal opinion. ( at the risk of insulting the fine creators of Guild Wars... x.x )
And let's not go into non-electronic RPGs. I've been told my room looks like a library, there are so many sourcebooks for various games stacked all over the place...

The original Diablo was my first online game back in '97..played with a friend..what an exciting experience, had so much fun. When I eventually got bored, I started duping weapons..I think that was it's downfall.
Then we heard about Ultima Online..it was still in open beta, but we managed to download 700 megs of RAR files with slow dialup and get into the last few days ! I still have my original acc. 7.1/2 years later !!
Also tried Underlight..wow..what a weired game..soon dumped that one.
I gave Ashen Empires a try for 9 months, but oh what a grind, and its dead boring till you get to lvl 50, which took the whole 9 months ! then it's still boring..
I read an interview with Richard Garriot of Ultima fame..he mentioned GW as being inovative and would be an outstanding game (2004 interview)..so I went ahead and pre-ordered and played my first BWE in March..can't wait for 28th..I'm hooked !
