Are 'bosses' naturally supposed to glow?

Kanada, eh?

..Or is it only when you obtain a Signet of Capture? Because not once have I seen a boss monster have that class colored glow.

Maybe its just my video card.

Thanks in advance,
-Drakharran.

It's not your videocard. Boss monsters glow to indicate that they are...boss monsters Not sure what color represents which, but you're not crazy

The problem is either a DirectX incompatability (i.e wrong version) or your drivers are out of date. Just upgrade BOTH. I have a feeling you have a nVidia card.

I actually have an additional question regarding a problem similiar to this. I have a GeForce 6800 video card.

When I first start the game everything is fine. Then in a few minutes, all of the other characters around me and also some textures on the map/background will have a light shade of white over them. When I put the pointer on the other players it lights them up (obviously) and shows their correct colors, then reverting back to the shade of white when I move the mouse pointer off.

I can temporarily fix this by moving the graphics quality up or down in the options menu. Then in a few minutes it goes back to the same thing.

I'm willing to bet that its my video card. Anyone have any ideas? Keep in mind that I'm a noob when it comes to technical stuff, paid someone to build a computer for me

Edit:

PS I can see the bosses glow just fine

I assume you aren't overclocking your card?

Right click your desktop, go to properties, and adjust your default direct3D/OpenGL settings from there. Those settings override any in-game adjustments that you make, which explains the textures getting screwed up again moments later.

My Computer runs on a GeForce4 MX 420. Can anyone tell me where i can download these updates (Or do i have to just buy a new one). Im kind of clueless on computers . This would make things much easier as i would be able to see the boss from afar. Thanks in advance.

Someone should start a thread. Problems with Nvidia cards
Aside, I wish all our characters had glows...I thought Prince Rurik looked good with the yellow glow...goes well with his brownish/bronze outfit.

Looking for a RP Guild!

See... I think they did such a good job on the models and textures that I wish they did NOT glow... I think it makes them look cartoony and ugly. A small icon overtop the boss monster would do the same thing and would let the player see the gorgeous texturing better I think.

I see why they did it this way prior to the change to the Capture Signet (to warn you to be ready to capture), but now that you can do it at your leisure after the boss is dead I wish you could just turn the glow OFF!

The Geforce 4 MX cards do not give the boss glow. I had a geforce 4 MX 440 se AGP 8x, and i never once saw a boss glow through the whole game. I now however have an ATI 9600, and i saw the boss glow on the ranger boss in Pre-Searing .
And i havent changed anything on my system, just the graphics card

Or you could always downgrade to an Nvidia...j/k.
