A beef with meteor shower

Has anyone noticed how sluggish this spell is to deal its first hit, and how few times it actually hits? So far I've counted only 3 or 4 actual impacts over a ten second duration, so not only is it easy to avoid, but it's really not so devastating even if you were to get hit by it once.

...am I the only person who feels ripped off?

I used it once... felt the interupt wasn't worth the time or space in my skill bar

Thats because it does like 100 damage per hit. Who the hell is gonna stand there in the middle of it for that long? Ouch!

Meteor Shower takes a certain degree of skill to use properly.
While it only hits once every 3 seconds or so,
it's damage is massive to a target that won't be moving for roughly 12 seconds... and combo'd with say... firestorm..
the damage is quite deadly...

needless to say.... I have my uses for it.

Far as I'm concerned of all the elites I have on my e/me that is by far the most powerful single spell. Like Crusader said, couple it with firestorm, rodgorts invocation and (insert spell here) it can take out or severly cripple almost any mob.

I hear of people swinging out 3 showers back to back with glyphes (spelling?)

Thats rather great. Meteor Shower is extremely effective in interupting your opponents attacks and that is really where it shines. Try using it in Underworld or Dreadnaughts Drift.

It also comes in handy on tough mobs or critters that aren't moving around on you. Couple it up back-to-back with a nice firestorm, and you have a nice patch of seriously maimed baddies to play with.

I love doing that with My Wa/El.. DO those two spells and then tank right in with a Dragon Sword and Conjure flame running.. YOu can take down a sizable group of caster mobs that way in a hurry.

He only drawback is it does take a bit to recover from the exhaustion.. But its doable.

to put it to good use, get two eles to cast it, with 1 second between them, that way, everyone gets knocked down FAR more often, and its quite hard to escape from...

I usually use it on bosses once they have engaged the warriors. I chain Glyph of Lesser Energy/Meteor Shower/Fire Storm/Immolate/Incendiary Bonds/Flare, which is enough to take care of most bosses so long as they don't move. I also don't have to worry about the exhaustion, since I won't have any energy for the next 2 minutes anyway.

you should see this spell casted in the "king of the hill" matches where there could be 10-15 ppl standing right on the hill.

you can get anywhere of 2-6 kills with just that skill alone casted once in this situation., some say couple it with firestorm, na, i cast maelstrom right after meteor shower.

that is a very fast way to kill an enemy preist. 2 spells, nobody else helping you, 100% preist kill.

"spoiler" or you can visit the merchant in lions arch and get the quest called " merchants plea" and just follow the green arrow, it will lead you strait to this skill trainer. i think so atleast.
