Has anyone tried to make the north to south shiverpeaks run?
Da Cebuano
I'm level 16 soon to be 17 and I want to get to droknars and get my 80armor more than anything. Infact I would prefer to do this ASAP. So has anyone tried to make it and was successful? Also I would like to ask what would be waiting in terms of enemies we have to fight in order to pass through. Have to fight means that we just can't get past them, like guardians at a door or something. Thanks.

Anyone? maybe this is a subject no one in any forum would wanna touch, man, nobody seem to wanna take any risk round here.
Draken
get to lions arch run south to sanctum cay then do the desert and dragon missions your not gonig to run through that. Tons of enemies with knockdown are along the way balanced stance doesnt last long enough you have to fight your way down through those zones.
this also should probably have been posted in Q&A.

I personally haven't done it, but I have seen a level 17 guy in the Granite Citadel (so he must have made the run.)
On an unrelated note, I've seen a level 6 guy in Amnoon Oasis too.

it was a weeknight i started playing GW at about 6 pm, being bored I put together a 6 player all lvl 20 party for lornars...we had 1 guy (W/Mo) that was good and takin the hits so we kept going and going and going...finally 6 hours later close to 1 am (wanted to quit at 9), with only 3 members of the group left we made it...Funny thing, one guy quit less than a minute before the warrior made a heroic dash to the final gate and made it..lol
and if you do go, take lots of screenshots of the mobs, i should have done more so i could show people.

Uh according to every map I look at, there is no warp connecting Lornars Pass to beacon's perch or any part of north shiverpeaks. How did you get through to Loarnar's Pass?
Jackell
Heh, I tried to run from Beacons with my level 14 necro.
I made it like 3 feet.

you cant do it so dont try. This game's map is very linear.
Lasher Dragon
It can be done... but if you are anything like me, save yourself hours of frustration, broken keyboards, and a couple hundred more deaths on your character and just go through the missions the right way.

toastgodsupreme
I made it halfway, ran at 60% the whole time, and gave up. It took forever just to get THAT far.
It's not a run that should be attempted.

If you go from Beacon's Perch through Lonar's Pass, past the Dreadnaught Drifts, and trek south acrossed Snake Dance you will come to Camp Rankor. This small town is the only stopping point on the journey and it is about 80% of the way through. From Camp RanKor you must traverse southeast across Talus Chute and you will be at Droknar's Forge.
So it is possible, but enjoyable ? I highly doubt it, especially if you bypass Ascention. As I am sure you know, as the game goes on party sizes get larger. This means that loot must be split 8 ways as you approach the end game. In order to keep the rewards in line with rest of the game there is only one solution: more Mobs. I have been to all of these places and even made just over half of the run one sitting. I have seen unavoidable Mobs of 16 or more lvl 24 creatures. There is no way past them without agro. It makes it very hard to avoid DP, even with a party of 8. Coming from Beacon's Perch you would only have 6. With out the skills and armor from later in the game you soon find yourself being killed in one shot by most of the Mobs.
If you do try it and make it, I willing to bet you will learn at least these 2 things:
1.) Respect for your Agro Circle.
2.) What a balanced party is.

I made it! Just to say i did we got a group of level 20's together and did the run from Beakons Pearch to Camp Rankor.
5 Hours later, 4 of which we spent with 60% death penalty. we made it.

Yeah nice job! I made it from Rankor to Beacons Perch in about 3 or 4 hours :|

Yes, I tried this at level 17 with a bunch of similarly levelled (18, 19 and 20) and we made it about 1/3 of the way before a wipe out vs a group - up till then we had had a few deaths, but the experience is good enough that we were at 0%-30% or so DPs. Problem was an idiot in our party didn't d/c but instead just stood in one place and we didn't think too much of it, but when we died we ended up in observer with just this idiot standing by a tree 1 hour or so behind us. No auto-rez meant we had to abandon ship. I'm up for trying it again sometime
zman_acura
well...if you're rich you could hire a runner.
Miss Bailing
Or wait for a free run, because there are actually people out there nice enough not to capitalize on this method to making money.
Fireaznboy
heh just got on a free run to Droks. Just post up "can someone run me for free?" and some guild might be helping their fellow guild member and decide to bring you along. It never hurts to ask.
I love my druids armor

You'll love the 15k druids armor as well. No, you wont.
I believe runs to droknars cost around 5; 2.5k at snake dance, and 1k at rankor, and 1.5k at the forge itself.
It's not very hard to run if you equip the right skills and have a copy of the map. You need balenced stance, charge, sprint, and lots of healing over time spells.

You can also take 8 players (you need to go from TotA) - that should make it easier

Wow, back from the dead... well, since this was last posted I did fight through it, it wasn't too bad excepting the middle bit :P Really you need some good AoE for that. I don't think we sufferred at all through lornars; the dreadnought area demolished us, we fought through it at -60DP, but made it, then the next bit wasn't bad, only being at -60 to start it hurt - some of us wore off the DP, others only cut it down to -30 or so by the time we hit Rankor. Tough, challenging, but doable.
RulerOfChaos
Elite Forge Runners (Runz) is a safe reliable guild speicializing in well... forge running and other runs (kryta, LA, and more). We usually have cheap runs whenever we feel like it ranging from 1k-2k but normally 3k-4k. Sometimes we do runs for free. 100% money back guarantee, we'll get you there fast reliable and ABSOULTELY NO SCAMS ask anyone we did business with. Also we are a small guild so of course we are recruiting... Runners, and people who dream to become a runner. Runners get officer promotion right away as long as they know what they're doing. Need a forge runner msg me in game or leave a reply. "Ruler Of Chaos" is in game name.

I've faught it with a well-coordinated team. Mostly my guidlies on TS, an additional warrior from an allied guild, and an additional monk.
Drakharran Zealot
North to South Shiverpeaks run is very easy. Just as long as you time your skills right. Now, if you thought that was hard, try Droknar's-Copperhammer run, that will test your surviving skills at their best.

It wasn't easy when the original post was made.

After seeing that map, I realise just how far it is... I never made it even half way before being killed many many times.
So is there another way there besides trying to run it? Or is there a mission that eventually leads you there?

droknars - copperhammer is the toughest ive come across, so many ice imps with deep freeze ect, omg, its horrible, ive never tried N-S shiverpeaks, and i think anyone that is taht desperate to get the 1.5k armour that quickly has chosen the wrong game ^^
Jaythen Tyradel
Challenging, but possible.
Fire Of Duragon
I love it when people are actually paying 2k+ for a run that a i did with 4 henches. I understand when people charge for say a hard run like this. But from say Beacons Perch to Kryta? thats rediculous, but hey i guess there are people weird enough to pay...
EverBlue
I do free runs to the Forge all the time. Gives me something to do when I'm tired of farming. :P It's amazing how fast the group fills up, though. You get nothing but solid whispers. So many bells..
ShinJin Kahn
I would say that run is easy, but i've seen w/mo solo it hammer style with only 1 death in the dreadnought bit.
He avoided all the tengu things but killed practicly everything on the way.
sucks i didn't get his name, i was noob back then so didn't know what all the fuss was about........

I made the run with my Ranger 'back then', and I don't see what has changed? I've been known to forget things though..
