I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but when you launch GW and then alt+tab back into windows and use task manager to check the priority of the GW.exe process it is set to the lowest setting available to windows XP (low).
Several revisions ago, you used to be able to alt+tab, and switch the proirity of the GW.exe up to "Normal" or even "Above Normal" for a noticable performance increase. Now unfourtunatley if you do this, the game automatically detects this and changes the process priority back to low... arg.
I have writen batch files to launch GW in normal mode, they appatrently have no affect either, as the game seems to be checking this regularly..
Why is this happening? Why would they want other threads running while you are gameing to have more priotrity?
The only answer that comes to mind is, in games like Doom3 and WoW that really max out your sytem there seem to be a lot of overheating and stablility issues with systems that are not correctly setup. Is this being done to minimize the amount of hardware issues that result from this overheating in an attempt to make it appear that this game has fewer hardware issues than it's compeditors?
Hardly seems fair to those who have spent thousands on thier machines and are forced to run in the game in low priority mode.
Gw.exe process now runs as Low Priority task?!?!

I have already read the topic, but there is very little there "explaining" why it does this, and only started doing this within the past week or so.

Please read more then the first post in that topic. No, it hasn't been doing this for a week, it's been doing this for ever.
