Please allow customization of the chat interface so that players can reconfigure the keys for switching between chat channels.

For many of us, requiring us to use the shift+key in order to switch channels is incredibly clunky. I find myself just not chatting as I'd like to as a result. This is very similar to the chat interface in L2 (NCSoft) and completely unlike the user-friendly commands in EQ and WoW. I think there is no question but that the EQ and WoW communities flourish and I am not kidding when I tell you part of that is because of the ease of the systems. In contrast, my friends are telling me they don't even want to play this game it is so difficult to talk to one another and change channels.

Please, give us the tools to make this interface work FOR US.

They SHOULD allow customization. But I mean, come on, how hard could it possibly be? I chat fine on the current system...

Obviously I am capable of hitting the shift + the "2" or "3" or "'" key (come on, though, even the secondary keys we must press are not the easiest...most aren't even in the primary typist locations). But because of the added hassle I don't. In games I don't use capitalization and, similarly, I don't use shift.

Looks from your personal icon that you may play WoW. Be honest. WoW is about 383010101 times easier to play and chat in than GW and I am telling you it is because the game doesn't require a shift key to switch chat channels. In this game I pretty much stick to one chat, guild, and never swith unless absolutely necessary. When I do switch, I usually just click the box for that chat instead of manually switching. But it's a hassle.

In any event, regardless of the ease or difficulty, we do both agree that the capability to customize chat should be there.
