Attitude of some people is just rude

Im posting this as a kind of 'sister post' to the 'what is wrong with some people in this game?' thread. I dislike the fact that there seems to be so many rude or impolite people. People seem to think nothing of calling someone a b*****d or to tell someone to shut the f*** up you n00b. Just today i was told to 'shut up you b*****d'. For no other reason than my shield i was trying to sell didnt have bonuses. Many times in pvp battles people like to insult people, call them n00bs and get all ****y and happy when then kill people. It costs nothing to be polite.

Some people just think that since they're anonymous, they can degrade anyone they want. I don't think there's a way around it, unless you can report those jerks (not sure if you can).

Look at it this way, people are just venting out, they don't mean you specific harm. Therefore, if you take it personally, it's your own problem. You have control of how you take messages, expressions, anything. Why would you complain about that specially when on a form of communication like the internet?

Alas it is true, Spent 1 month playing EQ2 trial before I got this, and I have to say the community was a hell of a lot better than this place. I suppose P2P has benifits, it seems to eliminate alot of the less desirable player population. The are still ignorant players in eq2, but I never got spammed by them, and the forums where never this petty and proliforated by the same dribble and the same threads rewritten and re hashed again and again.
It is starting to make me cringe when I look at the Riverside Inn forum, well at least it hasn't spilled over to the other forums.
If anything was to turn me away from this game, ti would not be the game, more the constant abuse spamming the chat channels in game.
The Towns become cursing grounds rather than meeting ground.
If the good Player formed up into a decent size guild, then atleast you could just switch the other channels off, alas this would not be so go for the guildwars PvP theme due to the restriction on on guild per acccount.
You never know in the future they may allow you different characters to belong to different guilds.
Then we could make a large PvE guild where abuse is banned, immaturity doesn't exist and players could just have a good game working together..... ( sounds far too much like utopia or disneyland alas. )

Being polite is a matter of education and style. A rude person is likely to be avoided by the kind and polite ones. Besides, even if you're the best player around in any game, or have a million dollar house and a Ferrari, you will still be a rude, non-educated, little man.

The fact that a person doesnt mean me specific harm is so obvious to be even stupid to mention, since we're totally anonymous on the internet. The anonymity, nonetheless, doesn't change the fact that an unkind person is, in essence, a total loser.

Alas it is true, in RL spent 5 years working in Customer Services, this teaches you that although the majority of people are genuinely ok, there are some and there will always be some that should never be given the time of day, as they are leeches, they have no idea what it means not to be selfish and are deep down miserable gits who's life long goal is to make everybody elses day miserable. They are usually skin flints, misers, takers and users.

Yesterday I was in Ventari's refuge and there was this person who shall remain nameless, spamming obscenities at anyone using the chat or trade channels. I took a couple of screenshots and filed a report to ANet.

I can understand a bit of cursing in the midst of a hard fought battle.. I know personally the first thing out of my mouth when I get killed is either damn or s**t .. I don't see a problem with that. but the open racism and harrassment needs reported.

You have to decide what level of nonsense is accptable for you and report the worst cases and let the company do their thing.

Then i'll be watching you and the day you whine about something i'll quote you.

This doesnt not make it acceptable, hell i dont take it personally and i dont mind people saying oh s*** when they die, hey ive done it, but the unneccesary abuse i mind. Im just voicing my opinions and i would complain about it in any form of communication not specially the internet.

Poor choice of words is a sign of two things: 1) Stupidity - that person does not know any other words to use except curse words and other impolite ones, 2) Stupidity - That person is just rude and stupid enough to think they are better than anyone.

As Corwin said it's one thing to say damn I died or **** that was freaking hard. But to constantly use profanity shows a lack of intelligence and education (ie. your stupidity). I do swear but I do not go as far to curse at others or insult them. Not because I have a degree from a college, because I try to be a good person in RL and online. What satisfaction do you get from insulting people and calling names through internet? Nothing, unless your a moron with no life, no friends, and too stupid to be smarter. Choose wisely before speaking because if you start something you might regret it. Regret that you'll get in trouble for people like us who will screen shot you and send it in. No need for people like that, we got enough problems as it is in RL and in gaming communities.
