Global Events

Hello all, I've been playing for quite sometime, And I was just wondering if there will ever be global events?
Like remember when Gwen went on a riot with fire to end beta testers?, Stuff like that. Something like a bunch of charr charging in, and the people in the towns getting their temporary weapons to fight them off, Will there ever be any surprises?

Global events would be fun. Anyone know Anarchy Online game? Sometimes aliens just come with their ship and invade a city. You better have good stuff or run as fast as you can.

Or when Omni-Tek NPC leader comes with his ship to main town and start speech. Some human player reacted it by sniping leader to death. After that tons of players were hunting the assassin. He probably wet his pants and ran as fast he could.

Huge siege to random towns in GW would be good. Although it might bring many systems to knees and fighting would be a lag hell.

Maybe no one responded because it was interesting enough. lol. I think global events would be "o-k"... but player involved and Guild involved in the storyline would be even better.

Actually, ArenaNet said there would be more of these in the future before the game was released. They didn't specify when or what, so we'll just have to keep a look out on their site to see when their global event is.
