I used the term Samurai because historically the Samurai were excellent with the bow as well as the sword (I believe the art is named "Kyudo").
Anyways, I wanted to know what you guys thought about a build involving Marksmanship with the Warrior attributes? For example:
11 - Strength
10 - Axe or Sword Mastery
10 - Marskmanship
Honestly I started the warrior instead of the Ranger for asthetic reason. IMO, the Warrior model looks better than any other.
How will this hold up against the higher level mobs?
Any discussion on this subject is greatly appreciated.

You can use a bow to shoot faster, combining it with flurry or so. Make sure it has Zealous string too so you can spam your arrow spells.

Thanks for the reply Raiku. I've been using frenzy mostly to speed up my bowing. Don't have flurry yet (atm I'm level 8). I still can't help but notice I do much more damage in melee range than bowing. Just wondering if this is skill related or just a hinderance that the warrior needs to deal with.
BTW, I know many of you will tell me to reroll a Ranger/W but as I said earlier I much prefer the Warrior model than the Ranger one.
These games are as much about entertaining eye-candy to me as they are anything else.
I would like help mostly to create the best build possible with the W/R combo who will be able to hold his own in PVE.
Thanks in advance.

you might want to try wilderness surivival, apply poison with an axe and do cyclone axe when surrounded by enemies.... poison everything around you....would be pretty useful no?
Aaaaagh
Decent build, but I think you are sacrificing alot by going with marksmenship and a melee skill. Why not drop the melee skills for something more useful?

In the beginning, the bow was very useful for my W/R, but later I found it necessary to drop that skill in favor of boosting Wilderness Survival. I have a feeling (*winknudge*) that the big guys in charge have noticed the complaints about pets losing their usefulness later on, and that they will see more and more improvements in the future, so I'm also choosing to keep some skill in Beast Mastery. Besides, like kurosawa said, it's about the looks... and big mean kitty slashing up enemies alongside you looks cool. ^^
My priorities are something like this:
Swordsmanship: 10 +some stuff
Strength: 8
Wilderness Suvival: 8
Beast Mastery: 8

Yea if you want to boost your effectiveness, choose either swords or marksmanship and then pick up survival or something else to further compliment your choice. High str will benefit either.
