Once you've confirmed that you want monk as you secondary profession you can't change it. You can just delete that character and re-create it. Changing your secondary profession isn't an option until you get towards the end of the game. If you're in Pre-Searing I'd say just re-create the character.

One correction to Auntie's post... semantics really. You get to change your secondaries when you get close to the START of the game. Level 20 is when the game starts... not ends.

Only if you consider the PvP aspect a continuation of the game instead of and interesting and challenging option available to players. In many ways the PvP is outside the story of the game. Although it certainly adds to the longevity.

BTW, Is Warrior/Monk not a good combination. Monk pretty much are healing other team member since i am most likely playing alone (But i will hire some computer Hench to help me along the way)

Thanks.

You can heal yourself as a Monk too

Yeah, W/Mo is a very effective combo, since being able to heal yourself allows you to take that much more damage before going down. I'd say stick it out until you get the opportunity to change your secondary.

Yeah, you see alot of differences as you go along, the professions will grow on you, I sure know that Mesmer did on my Monk/Mesmer... Going to revamp her later though to be Healing/protection [Smiting for undead], and Inspiration for energy suckage rather than Illusion for damage dealing. Purely trying to go for support on her, tough being a primary monk...

Im now a lv 20 monk/mesmer but i had to dump all of my mesmer skills, this because you really have to focus on 1 or 2 attributes. I read that you want healing/protection/smiting and illusion, these are 4 attributes so you wont get them very high (or that isnt you plan). If i were you i stick to 1 or 2 attributes.

I'll try to clarify. Of course you have to select your secondary at the start of the game in Pre-searing Ascalon. In the PvE part of the game you have the OPTION of changing your secondary after Ascension which is Mission 18 of 25. Shagsbeard's point is that some people consider this to be the starting point of PvP/GvG part of the game. I consider that since you can compete at any time in PvP(Arena's or PvP only Characters) that the 2 aspects are companion components with the main story line having a beginning, middle and end; and the PvP component being available as required so that one really doesn't lead into the other. Although PvE play really does enhance the PvP play.
I hope this helps. Since it can be argued either way it's a tough point to explain. There are many threads on this site argueing the various points between the 2. A quick search will turn up more flaming than you will ever want to read.
