Gold Dye?

You will have to mix a few dyes, but I think it's more complex than that. Last I heard, one silver, one orange and two yellow dyes makes a nice gold.
the yellow/yellow/oramnge/silver thing was posted in the thread linked above. I'm gonna try it now, since I already have a silver and yellows are cheap, compared to other dyes.
I did it, I added orange to silver, then yellow to make a copperish color, then another yellow. the last yellow didn't change the icon color, but it probably has an effect on the real thing. I wonder how much I should sell it for...
And it was only 140 x 3, then a silver that I got for free.

Does my gold dye look exactly like your's? mine has two yellows instead of one...
I made a couple to sell to make a profit, but I don't think they look gold enough for people to buy them... they just look like bright yellow. I think they'd sell like crazy if they shined like the logo on Epinephrine's cape... but they're just bright yellow

responses:

If anyone has screens of the yellow+silver and orange+silver = yellow mix+orange mix=gold Pics can we see? I just wonder if it would have the same effect.
I tried yellow on my Aeromancer armor, it looked horrid with the female set, it just didn't blend well, I wonder how a yellow+orange mix would work... I'll have to take a try at that next time in game...

Starting to get some very complex combos here, I think we're leaving an important facet out of the mix:
"Gold" is a shiny color, thus is only rationally "Gold" on shiny armors, like Knight's armor. And on Knight's armor, yellow works fine as a gold-like color. The Gold on the back of Tidu's cape up there is shiny; is it possible to get a shine on a not-so-shiny type of armor, like Necro's armor or Monk's armor?

Silver and Yellow actually make the coolest green ever created. True say, saw someone put it on a Reinforced Buckler, smart fellow too, since it's got the most surface area to see the pigment. It made me cry.
Recommendation from my friend Subb Gee : Blurple.
=P
Something that hurts even to think about, do you think that the colour mixing is a simple addition system? Like 1+3+2 = 6 or 3+1+2 = 6, or is it more complex along the lines of the first mix put with another mix make something different from another combination while still using the same colours?

I wonder that myself, I'd think it would be a bit more complex dependant on what color you put in first, but then again, like mixing paint in the real world, start with blue, red or yellow and add in yellow, blue then red in various orders and it all turns out the same nasty color doesn't it?
SO I do wonder if perhaps its merely simple or slightly different dependant on which color you put first.
Also, one thing I'd like to have dyed would be the Canthan Targe, or well a friend would, he dyed it, it didn't work, but with another shield I did it and it just did the center part, its very cool to dye shields since you can actually see the change...
