What's the point of allowing rare armor drops (purple/gold) that have no Rune associated with them once identified?
I mean these items are pretty rare to begin with and even if there is a rune hidden in an unidentified piece of rare armor, there's always a chance you won't succeed in salvaging it...so why the extra layer of disappointment by adding blank rare armor?
I know you can sell those blank rare armors to merchants for more gold than normal armor drops but a Major or Superior Rune is going to get you a lot more on the open market than a couple hundred gold pieces...and that's provided it's not one you can use yourself, which is even more valuable imho.
When you factor in that most rare items are pretty disappointing in stats to begin with it just seems pretty silly for a rare armor drop to yield nothing but a paltry sum of coin.
Anyone else have an opinion on this?
Has a discussion already started about this somewhere that I've missed? If so please direct me to the thread so I can chime in there too.
