Bug in game allows weapon stealing read....
PHANTASM
This guy asked if he could see my weapon, so I started trade
right when I was going to submit he canceled the trade.
My weapon falls to the ground he picks up my weapon and leaves the group.
I dont understand why a person would do this?
I had my weapon customized so its no use to him.
Is there anyway to fix this bug he will do this to someone else.
People are proud of there weapons and will show them to people.
This bug exposes people's rare items.
I'm just disgusted by this.
if you read this I hope you can look your self in the mirror knowing
your a scam.
BTW I submited this to support team at guild wars
right when I was going to submit he canceled the trade.

it was only a matter of time before people would figure out a way to scam people, its just like the red dye thing, alot of people are too lazy to get their own equipment and just play the game, so they have to steal and scam

If you released the mouse button after he canceled the trade, then you just dropped the weapon on the ground.
I doubt that there is a bug here.

Well, he would have to cancel like, half a second before you clicked to put your item in there... i gotta give him props to his scam, because being psychic enough to know when you're going to click... that takes skills...
But anyhow, a scam is a scam, not a bug... if it were a bug, anet could fix it, since it's a scam, anet will fix the person. Banning the character... Go anet!

They can fix it so you cant drop weapons like it is when in town.
You cant drop weapons in town.
Why have it different out on battlefields?
If you want to get rid of something you can use your inventory trash can.
This bug could easly be fixed have it same as in towns and use trash can if
want to get rid of something.
This bug is easy to do I tested it (with wife and her character) as soon as
you click your weapon and drag it anywhere outside of inventory box it falls
to ground, when you let go of it on purpose or not.

wow d2 dejavous all over again. scary...hope they put a fix on even if cancelled they auto back where items came from.
Numa Pompilius
There's no bug. He pulled the item out of his directory, and happened to drop it just as the other guy cancelled, so it landed on the ground. The other guy then saw his chance, snatched it up, and ran.
One person with bad luck, and another with bad morals and quicker reflexes, nothing more.

Phantasm, that totally sux and I am glad you submitted the person.
why would this person do this....cuz he's a scum bag. plain and simple. even if you "just dropped your weapon on accident he still picked it up and took off. scumbag p.o.s. people who would do this in gamers environment would do it you in real life on the street my advice to you is to not anyone you do not know to check out your stuff. some may say that you should have been a lil more savvy, maybe may not...why would anyone have to worry about this stuff...because we play against human players and we all know the horrors humans are capabale of.....too bad phan....keep your eyes peeled and find some good mates to watch your back....just like in real life.
peace

Umm.. For one, if he dropped it, it'd have to be outside town. Two, it gives you a warning if you want to drop the item, ANY item if you drag it out. And three, I've showed someone my equipped weapon before and it was cancelled. I don't have it anymore, because that's because I got a better one and sold the old one.

You can expliot this as soon as you drag your weapon from inventory to
ground or trade box its exposed. (while outside of town)
I tested it with wife very easy to drop.
If your asking yourself why I did this I'll explain.
Just got cool sword someone wants to see it so I show new cool item to
them, you ask why dont i do this in town? Well you cant see weapon or
helmet in town just walking around.
Why cant they add a conformation if your going to drop weapon on ground?
I dont want to argue with anyone I just dont want this to happen to someone
else.

Phantasm, I am very sorry this happened to you, I know it must be frustrating. I ran into Aztec Axe once myself, and he wanted to see my FDS, I said that I didn't have the time, and now after reading this, I know why he wanted to do it, I'm sorry it happened to you, but I thank you for telling the community about it so someone people can know better next time he tries his act

I certainly agree with a banning
Helios
Phantasm, this is unfortune that people do these kinds of things. But for everyone reading this, let it serve as a warning. Don't trade outside of a town or outpost. I know it's natural to want to show off a cool new weapon, but don't let that get the best of you. Better to impress with you playing than your gear.
Weezer_Blue
The simplist solution would be to do exactly what they did with salvage kits..
"you cannot salvage items on your weapons bar"
...
"you cannot drop items on your weapons bar"
"you cannot salvage items on your weapons bar"
...
"you cannot drop items on your weapons bar"
Enigmatics
Wow suprisingly this is a rather well known scam in other RPGS, like d2 and pristontale. As for not being able to trade weapons in item bars, people would still take the weapons off so they could show them to others in a trade screen.

Well, this was recently patched to have a confirmation dialog on dropping an item shortly after trading, according to http://www.guildwars.com/news/gameupdates.html

Hello
The trees are at it as well!
Spent 2 hours on my own trying to finish Villainy of Galrath quest after everyone had quit, because I had been allocated a gold brute sword - BUT it was stuck inside a tree (along with some other loot)!! Had to quit in the end as I was literrally falling asleep at the mouse.
Normally I'm pretty easy going, and not classification of species prejudised, but perhaps AN should consider coppicing? Or maybe liberal application of weed killer or napalm. And as a last resort maybe perma-banning the trees concerned - I would prefer to see deciduous trees eliminated from English Districts and just allow neat rows of evergreens, but no way leylandii !!
The ironic thing is that if I'd had hold of the gold sword then I might have been able to chop the tree down myself.
Cheers
