I suppose I'm thinking here in terms of the way , the further you get through the rp content, the harder the majority of collectors are to reach, but then once you arrive and see what it is they'll be willing to trade you for, all that's shown is the item's primary stat, or damage if it's a weapon.
For example, I'd found a collector that had a +12 energy Idol, though until I did the turn in I had no idea that it also had +20% chance of both casting speed increase and skill recharge on curse skills.
Some of the collector's items are, imo on par with alot of the semi-rare ( purple ) drops I've seen, sometimes actually better. But once you get to areas like the southern Shiverpeaks, in general it may take a decent amount of time ( sometimes hours ) to collect the 5 of x that you need, but you won't really know if the item is worth the time spent until you have it in your inventory.
I suppose my suggestion then, is to basically have some way of the collector's items to show their *full* value, either within their dialog screen, or even have the info show up when moused-over. The reasoning is, again, so you'll have at least a better idea of what it is you're investing a fairly decent amount of time collecting to know if the traded item is worth it to begin with.
( And as a secondary suggestion, is there a way that even if you *do* have the required 5 of x in your inventory, you could still see the item stats before getting just a window of *I'll take X item* options? Sometimes you'll find the collector for the first time, have the items on hand, but have no idea what the item even is until you make the exchange )
Feel free to add any comments / suggestions etc
