Anyone got the GW Prima guide yet?

Does it tell you which quest rewards are given by which NPCs?

Or you can just talk to the NPC's...

gwden

You could if you know where all quest giving NPCs are located.

If you compare the images of the book cover on gamestop, barnes and nobles, and amazon, you'll see different text on the right side. The one with poster included image (like on amazon) says it ships June 7th. The one that's on gamestop and doesn't have poster included pic is already shipping.

It looks like there are two different books, but I can only find one on the official site.

I wouldn't suggest buying the strategy guide (PvP strategy changes daily, plus all of the updates they pump into the game makes the strategy guide seem so... inadequate)

I only want it because it gives location of NPCs that give quests for skill rewards.

I saw the preview, and wow, those maps look a little confusing, but I can't wait to hold the guide with my world map rather than look at it in PDF format.

Gamestop the other day, saturday, said it shipped out the day before, EB had no idea about it, and the last time I asked EB had no clue, they figured I should ask the Rhino that was in the mall, they had no clue on it, kind of funny.

I'm waiting for Wal-Mart to get it in so I can look at it and hopefully snag it.

I have the book. The pull out map is very nice.

Gives a full list of all missions and their respective bonus missions. Also has a separate map for each with the best way to get to the area's needed and tips for completing the quest.

Has area maps with npc's listed if they give quests. However, I haven't seen anything yet pertaining to the OP question. Sorry. Haven't had time to look through the whole thing yet.

By the by, ours came in on the 28th via EB fulfillment (we pre-ordered it and had it mailed to our house).

Hope this helps.

You should post where to find some of the missing elite skills like warriors endurance *hint hint* (nudge nudge)

According to the book...Custodians Dellus, Fidius, Hulgar (Forgotten Enchanted Bosses)

Mind you I have no idea what that means as I have not finished the game. But I hope that helps the above poster.

In anwer to the OP...yes! The book has listed (in many different cross-referencing ways) all of the skills and which quests will give them to you.

Tala, what this community lacks right now is the information on which NPCs give which quest rewards and where they are located. Specifically the non-elite spells. Most elites have been discovered already. There are over 400 skills though, so it's prolly too much to just type it all out. Maybe you could scan some pages?

Wow thats harsh! It's like they're handing you the keys to a Ferrari and letting you know that it's "somewhere in the world, good luck finding it."

The only way I ever buy the strategy guides for games like this is with the digital download - costs less - and you get free updates to the book as the game shifts and changes. I did get the prima guide - just cause as I am now finishing my Ranger/Necro and starting up my Elem/Mes - I like to see the skills all in one place - where you get them - what they do - etc etc etc. the maps are cool - but this book also did a good job with why you don't want to be a ranger/warrior etc etc... lot's of DUH stuff - but it's still nice to have all the skills etc etc in one place when you are switching back and forth between characters.

I'm just fond of printed material. Nothing like holding it in your hand. I still use forums/fansites for build ideas and help when I'm stuck, but I almost always use a printed guide for a "starting point".

I just picked it up and I have found numerous glarring omissions and errors. A lot of the information in this book is very outdated... *very* outdated.

It is amazing how much more helpful fan sites are than the official books.

Frankly I don't know why all this isn't covered in the instructions to the game itself. Instead, intelligent and dedicated fans of the game must figure out formulas, etc, by trial and error and then post it for free, when the makers of the game we purchased, who have all of the information at the fingertips, put together a book with inferior information and charge and arm and a leg for it.

Perhaps the people who have figured out this information should collect it all together and publish their own unofficial GW guide. Put it on CDs and charge 5 dollars a piece. I would pay for something like that. I would pay for the book if it contained useful information---but, since they are not doing it, maybe the fans will.

Of course it takes later release date for Amazon UK to have the Prima Guide. Don't you realize how long it takes to add all those extra U's to words like colour and armour??

I bought the e-guide and it is definitely the smarter way to go. That way you can get updates for free as opposed to a static book with no updates ever.

It is worth it in my opinion. Especially since you can easily minimize the game, look at the e-guide, then jump right back into it knowing what to do if you are stuck.
