That's great, but do you have a technical problem or question? You may want to read the stickies before posting in a forum.

i would get an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ at least. I dont like Intel, its not great for gaming. Also, make sure it has Hyperthreading (For Intel), or Hyper Transport (for AMD)

Actually both the Intel and AMD cpus are great for gaming. It's just a matter of picking the right equipment.

By the way, make sure that 19" LCD screen of yours has a responce time of 16ms or less. Otherwise it might make some stuff (especially on dark backgrounds) look like crap.

Termite is very correct on that one on the 16ms. This is why I still buy 19" CRTs way cheaper and the PQ can't be matched. (I still use my older Dell Sony Trinitron CRT)monitor. SEDs down the road are the "new tech" to look out for. However, if you get a fast LCD you should have a decent PQ. I can't stand the Blurrrr of a cheap LCD.

Ditto. ViewSonic GS790 19" here, fits perfectly in my computer credenza/hutch thingy.

That's an exaggeration. People are happily playing Guild Wars and Half Life 2 today on Radeon 9600's, the PC he's getting will have a healthy lifespan.

I don't think that the original poster has a technical question/problem, but they've been made aware of the forum policy.

I'm not going to close or delete this post, it's harmless.

No, it actually isn't. I have that much, and I'm sure many others have 1GB, too. For XP, it's a very healthy amount.
XP generally eats up all of your RAM if you have 256MB
512MB helps, and is the recommended minimum (by most of us in the forums).
>768MB is good, and 1GB is great.
Don't be surprised if you see somebody say 1.5 or 2GB; of course, they're probably those with too much money or do video editing.

2gb, here. Video, audio and photo editing/resampling are much more pleasant with healthy amounts of RAM. If you like to open a lot of things at once, all that memory reduces page file usage and keeps you from slashing your wrists.

4gb, now that's workstation/server territory.

Sure. I don't like dell as as corporation, but their XPS series is perfectly capable. Also, since they signed an exlusivity agreement for mobile gf 6800 ultras, they actually carry the best gaming laptop on the market.
