simply put, i had the same trouble when i first started, the thing is... the mirror will ONLY use the skills that YOU bring in, bring in as little spells as possible, and cast them before he does

bring Retribution and Healing Breeze. no others.

cast Retribution on yourself and keep HB up as much as possible. stand back and watch him murder himself. He will not use Healing Breeze.

I have the same problem. In the end, no matter what strategy I try, his damage is just way too much. I can't count on him to cast anything because he usually goes straight to raping me with his bow. And when I try using Empathatic strategies (Mesmer here) I'm still dead before he kills himself anyway

didnt work. i got his energy down by about 25%. thats about all.
not to mention that my magic does not return so fast when i havethe spells on.
is there a way that i can get an increast to my magic energy return? im only at 4 arrows. (before i cast spells).
i tried it your way. i also tried keeping vital blessing, heal area, retribution, healing breeeze and bane signet.
i cant beat him. tell me more.!

Do not bring in any heal spells other than healing breeze, he heals himself far better than you can heal yourself. If you have any enchantments (other than healing breeze) in your skill bar, he should cast them at the beginning of the battle. Try bringing in a lot of skills that negate physical damage and rely on your smiting skills that penetrate armor to beat him. Other than that, I dunno, there's a lot of threads on beating your mirrior, try doing a search.

ok. i got balthazars power. added to the above. (took vital blessing off). i got him down to about 25 %. but he kills me. the healing breeze barely helps. help me.

I stripped myself entirely of all my skills, then just went in with a hammer, and I beat him with half of my health left. I just had more crits and a higher dmg hammer than him.

It's not this difficult... you're trying WAY TOO HARD. What you need to do is go in and deal as much damage as you can as fast as possible. That's the ONLY way to win. If you keep losing it's:

A. You bring more skills than you need
B. You don't know how to properly use your skills
C. You try to outsmart him and think too damn hard

Just DEAL DAMAGE... you'll do fine.

Here is what worked for me...I'm an El/Mo. Bane Signet and Healing Breeze. Amp the beejeesus outta your Healing and Smiting attribs. When you enter, tab to target, space bar to start attacking with your weapon, cast breeze, cast bane, cast breze again. Every time a spell timer resets, recast that spell. It was a looooong fight, but I won.

dansamy, did your mirror image ever cast Healing Breeze on itself? Because if it did then I don't think that strategy would work. Is there a reason the mirror never uses Healing Breeze? Weezer_Blue's strategy also depends on the mirror not useing Breeze.

well, i got him down to almost nothing. less than 5 %. 2 times. but i lost.
once if i could have dont the bane i would have won.
as far as bane. i can only get it off 2 times.
i think i might increase my protective powers and try to use a vital blessing. if i can get more hp i might win.
im not sure smiting spells is going to win it for me.
and unfortunalyte the healing wind barely helps.
he still hits me really bad.
too bad i cant realy dodge his arrows.

Monk...I was in your boat. To the tea. And then I thought..hrm..I can't stop him from shooting me, I can't armor myself because he'll do the same and I can't damage. So, I went and upgraded to the Lvl 20 Armor set (I'd been using the one I got at lvl 15) and beat him the next time I went in there. Try upping your Armor. It makes a big difference against those nasty arrows.

listen up hers how you do it, no joke

1. divine boon
2. balthazars spirit
3. retribution

cast them in that order, then just hit away, each time your health gets down cast divine boon again and it will heal you for aobut 60 *if your divine favor is at 12

its easy, jsut time your heals right even though you do about 5 and he does about 60 you will still win.

i didnt even use retibution, with smiting prayers at 0 theres no point in it

Well, it's not a specific armor, but rather, the actual stats of the armor go up as you level. My armor which I bought at 15, was Armor of 30, the Lvl 20 stuff was 51. It helped tons. If you're lvl 20, head to Amnoon, and buy a new set, preferebly with good stats. Lemme know how it turns out.

If you need help with materials, lemme know as well.

The first time i beat him i used symbol of wrath. I just set it next to him and moved away so he couldn't do it to me.
The second time i beat him, i went in with a load of strange skills that didn't look like i was ready for a battle. I was showing my brother how hard he is to kill but after fumbling around with all my odd skills i beat him. I had no intention of killing him either, lol.

As soon as it stars, get close to him and use:

Zealot's Fire <-- this one can be used before entering if you want.
Symbol of Wrath
Balthazar's Aura
Healing Breeze

Wait until Symbol of Wrath is back while you are attacking him with your staff or whatever you use and healing yourself with Breeze to hit him for extra damage.

I killed him in less than 50 seconds the last time i tried.

Also, i brought Blessed Aura, Life Attunement and Balthazar's Spirit. I didn't use them, but the mirror did and lost a lot of time.

Try the following....I beat my monk mirror in around 60 seconds.

Bring in the following
Healing Breeze
Pacifism
Symbol of Wrath
thats it....

As soon as the round starts hit him with pacifism. Then hit yourself with healing breeze. Walk up to him (while he is still in pacifism) then use Symbol of Wrath on him. Stand back and shoot him with your weapon. Then do it again. Pacifism then healing breeze on yourself then Symbol. That should just about do it.

Did you say your secondry ranger? bring about 4 nature ritual skills and watch him spend 15 seconds casting them all, stock up on smiting skills (balthazars etc.) and use all the pbaoe's on him, oh and pump smiting atribute up temporarily. Got mine in under 30 secs like that

I know when i did this first time, I was a Warrior/Monk and I know warriors have higher defense than Monks.

I just used Two spells and stood there. Retribution and Holy Wrath. I cast them before entering the temple to save energy and time and then let him murder himself. He hits a lot harder than me anyway, and the dmg dealt back with those 2 spells was about 4 times what i was doing.

With no healing spells, he couldn't heal himself and he died.

great. i just beat him. barely. in the nick of time. and i ascended. now im in a room of all level 20s .
but heres what i did. since my 2nd prof is ranger. i went to add extra skills.
i accidentally added one that is a tiger. it disables all your powers for 5 sec, but you attack 33 % faster.
i just used that 3 times and really took him down.
i went back to smite. the bow was working too slowly. so i used a smiting rod taking about 11-18 off at a time.
worked.
i think i can do it again.

Whats i used was Healing Breeze, Divine Boon, Retribution so u can heal ur self and have health regen and plus doing dmg to him.... then i used Pacifism when i life got really low to regen and take a breather. then ran around a bit until he died.

That is the way i beat my mirrior and found it quite easy after tweaking my skills for the right combo.

P.S. never did get the Bonus though.

It's a mirror... Computer controlled. If you want to do it easily, you can't count on your own skills - Just count on your mirrors stupidity.

I got the bonus with both my Mo/Wa and Me/Mo.

My Mo/Wa was the first try, and I decided to just bleed him to death, so brought heaps of useless protection spells, no healing spells, and bleeding. He will always cast all his buffs, so he spent very little time hitting me. Died in slightly under 50 seconds, from sword attack and bleeding. Lost very little health.

With my Me/Mo I just brought Backfire, and the usual load of protections spells. Nuff said. He killed himself in 5-6 seconds. No health lost. :P

Even if you have nothing in your secondary, like someone said, just bring two effective smiting skills, and make sure the attribute is high. Save other six slots for buffs that help nothing against your smiting skills. He will buff up all he can before he attacks. He ought to be dead by then.

How did I win with my Mo/W?

Retribution
Holy Wrath
Bane Signet

At the beginning I already had Retribution+HW on.
I immediately started with Bane, I didn't move at all.

In about 30 seconds he was dead, I was at 5% health. Maybe luck.

I actually have a theory, admittedly based on only 2 tests, that if you equip NO SKILLS AT ALL, that you always win.

Hmmm - guys - I actually brought many skills with me and still beat the Monk mirror in 10 seconds. =)

I'm a Mo/R (the R par is usually just for fun, but not in this case). I brought the following skills with me.

Bane Signet
Holy Strike
Banish
Healing Breeze
Zealot's Fire
Balthazar's Spirit
Retribution
Serpent's Quickness

Well - of course I put all the enchantments (Retribution, Balthazar's Spirit and Zealot's Fire) on me before the battle. The stupid mirror uses the bane signet and banish first (even if you don't attack) - so I just opened with a Banish, then the mirror started attacking me so I used Bane Sig, Holy Strike, Serpent's Quickness, Healing Breeze and my smiting skills again (when they recharged). Around 10 secs and the guy was gone. =)

I think everything might have worked out even better if I had brought Guardian with me and spammed it for Zealot's Fire Pwnage.

My ElMo killed the mirror in seconds easily... took flare and meteor storm, that was it. He starts right off with meteor storm, run out from under it and return the favor. He stands there getting spattered, throw a few flares at him for good measure and he's dead in well under a minute.
