Funny Thing...

Just happend to me in GW, I was offering to trade for a sword it all looked good the guy showed me it he said it had this blah blah power 13-19 then he keeps blabaling on and I say it says its customized for you sorry I can`t use it. He then goes on and says no no you can use it you don`t know what your on about trust me im a higher level than you.. (Im level 13 he was 15) It went on a bit more and it pretty funny and at the end he goes oh yeah sorry I "Forgot" that you can`t use customized swords.

Can you even trade an item that's been customised? I've never tried it, so I don't know.

yea you can trade them. trading customized items and trading ashes should not be permitted really, all it does it promote scams. what reason would anyone really need to trade something to a friend or other character that they cant use?

EDIT: for those that dont know what i mean about ashes.. the althea's ashes quest HAS to be done by you, you have to click the pedistal yourself for it to complete so buying the ashes wont earn you an easy 2k exp sorry

Unfortunately you can trade customized items. You can't use them but you might be able to sell them or salvage them.. kinda pointless for the most part.

On a similar note something to be aware of. If someone is offering you armor that has a rune in it, be certain it isn't collector's armor. At the moment you cannot salvage this stuff at all and you'd be simply throwing away good money.
