Henchmen!

Some love them some hate them. Instead of having to recruit them at each outpost. You should be able to have a squad of henchmen at the start of the game. You call them when needed, select skills they have and so on, upgrade their armour and when you don't want them in your party, keep them in reserve so you can recall them when you want them?

Is this a good idea? Post opinions and comments (no bad comments please).

Many Thanks

Interesting suggestion... sorta reminds me of the D2 henchie in that you can give him weapons and stuff...

So are you suggesting that each character or account also starts with a few "blank slate" henchmen that can be anything? As they level up you can select skills and attributes for them and also give them weapons and armor?

It might be a bit much to ask, though. Sounds like it would be a huge addition to code for the programmers, as there's nothing like it currently in game. And hey, they might just end up being exactly like the henchmen you can get in town, just causing more grind for people to complain about as they have to level their henchies to :P

And maybe it would be a little too poweful. Perhaps if you were allowed 1 or 2 henchmen to "train" max.. because if you had a whole crew of powered up henchmen, I would expect the whole teaming for missions thing to drop even more :|
