i am a new proud owner of a warrior monk. Now i want to be a damage dealer to its fullest which is why i need to know what i should use for weapons. i am a W/Mo tanker. should i use axes? hammers? swords? or something else...

Any feedback would be helpful.

Hammers:
Pros-
High Damage with a smaller minimum to maximum damage ratio
Can knockdown opponent
Cons- Slower of the 3.
Axes:
Pros-
High damage,Critical damage can be incredibly high, the ability to use a shield.
Cons-A large Minimum to maximum damage gap.
Dismemberment.
Swords:
Fastest of the 3, Small minimum to maximum damage gap.the ability to use a shield.
Bleeding.
Cons-lowest max damage.

This is all based on speculation,I have never used swords or axes..and i'm not including actual skills.Take it as you want..but you should choose what you want.

Axes are two handed and therefore can NOT use a shield where as swords can. Axes have a lower min damage and a higher max damage then a sword.

Umm . . . wrong.

Axes are all one-handed, which allows the use of a shield.

If all you care about is doing omgwtfbbqlol damage, you'd be better off with an elementalist. Warriors are NOT about trying to slaughter everything, they are about protecting the squishy people who do the REAL damage and keep your butt alive. I just get this strange sense of foreboding when I hear "I'm a W/M, I wanna do lots of damage" as these tend to be the hero types that run gung-ho in to danger, get the whole group wiped, and then blame the monk. Work on doing your job well instead of trying to kill everything.

Well said, I'm a warrior/necrolvl20(odd combo I know), but I'm there to protect the "squishy" people as someone just stated, mind you tho raising the dead with my necro skills is good...

Oh no doubt, if you have some useful secondary skills by all means throw those bad boys when it's safe to do so. My W/E isn't shy about tossing out a fire storm/phoenix combo when he's got a few mobs piled on him, but I make sure I'm squarely positioned between the baddies and the squishies first.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with wanting to deal as much damage as you can as a warrior as long as you're doing your job and not charging into a group of mobs with the idea of being the hero while your monk is desperately spamming "My energy is 2 out of 43". Sorry if I sound like I'm propogating a sterotype, but the sad fact is the "wamo syndrom" mentality exists for a reason.

Please, if you have two handed axes in your inventory, please provide a screenshot. I don't recall ever seeing one.
And as you can see, there are one handed axes and can be used with shields.

It most certainly does, there is nothing better sometimes than just wading in and hammering to death, it gives my charcter purpose....sometimes I do forget to protect the others but thats life....

Personally I would say that it probly doesn't matter too much either way. I would say that they would deal the same amount of damage of time do to the huge damage range of the axe and the smaller one of the sword.

I would also like to see this 2 handed axe... Are you sure you didn't get confused and misread a hammer for an axe?

Well, funny you should ask that, I use a hammer, and have a few axe's in my inventory, which I was convinced that some were of the two handed veriety(cant check till I get home from work tho), but using everyone's favourite search engine, apparently i'm wrong.....

looks like i'm mistaken oops, could have misread my inventory, my apologies
