I see all the complains in this forum about not able to beat some mission/quests.
Here's the big reason why,
Most party i been with composed of 3 warriors and 2 monks, and 3 other characters that just here to tag alone.
The most under rated class is the ranger, but the ranger's traps works just GREAT in any mission
The second most under rated class is the mesmer. Mesmer can control the battle field, making enemy do significantly less damage.
The third is necromancer. Well of blood works better than any monk's healing spells.
Elementist are somewhat popular around party because of their high damage output.
The most overrated class is the monk, monks only have 40+ energy to go around with, that's why many parties have 2 monks. But they still end up failing the missions
You people just under estimate the power of other classes. Monk's power is about healing and boosting your own party's power, but when monk's healing power is not enough, you'll need to classes that can drop the offensive power of enemy to make the job of monk easier, so that you'll only need 1 monk for a party of 8.
This is the ideal party that i assembled: (of a party of 8)
1 monk for healing
1 ranger for pulling, and setting traps to limit enemy mobility
1-2 warriors to tank
1 mesmer to massively disable enemy, (i find signet of midnight + epidemics works great in blinding bunch of enemies at once, as i'm a mesmer myself)
1-2 elementist to do damage
1-2 necromancer to do major disabling on single target with, and well of blood/power healing
So when you find a mission hard to beat, please make sure you have a balanced party. And don't tackle enemy group that is more than 4.
***SPOILER***The way to beat all the missions

nice idea, but sadly we don't play in a perfect gaming environment, which would be requirered to create the party you described for every single mission in the game.
1) 8 person parties are only available when you get to (draknor's forge?) so the rest of the game you have to deal with 4-6 member groups, making it a little more difficult to assemble a perfectly balanced party.
2) Not all characters of the same class play the same way. Different people have different builds and use different skills.
3) "And don't tackle enemy group that is more than 4." ; pretty much impossible to adhere to throughout the entire game. Sure, don't take on more than 4 Hydras in the Crystal Desert, but I could easily slay 10 scarabs by myself. Too much of a generalized statement that really can't be applied to the _entire_ game.
