Message for Little THOM, strange? its not working
Wiccy
Hi there,
I am doing the quest message for little thom, you have to search for him and give the message.(from farrah cappo in piken square). I found him in Yak's bend, he is next to the henchmen there. But you can't click him to give the message, there's no star at the location where he is standig no nothing...
who knows how to solve this quest?

Heh, I never thought about this.
If you follow the quest arrow for Farah's quest, you'll find it takes you to a place in Regent Valley. There's where the quest actually ends.
Little Thom being in Yak's Bend is something entirely different, but the ending of the quest gives you an idea why.
Anyway, just head to Regent Valley outside of Fort Ranik, and the problem's solved.

The little thom in yaks bend is a henchman ..not a regular NPC...though they are they same person lol

I did the Little Thom quest this morning with my secondary character and noticed that there was no green star at the location of his body, although I had the quest marked as my active quest in the quest log. I found the body only because I knew where it is from playing the quest with my primary character.
Bug?
Bug?
GlassShadow
That`s what happens when npcs kill the quest character before you get to complete the quest. To get past it you have to reload the map and get to the character before the computer mobs kills him
(not intended it just happens at times).
edit: usually I think the little green star is still there around the dead body, so I may be wrong, I never did this quest with my chars, just guessed from what I have observed in other quests.

Errrmm ... that quest we're talking about here is different. You're not supposed to find Little Thom alive. It is intended that you find his dead body.

Erm..I never did that quest, but how come he's a henchman in Yak's Bend if he died in Ascalon?

Spoilers?
Oh well, at least he isn't a part of the storyline or anything important.

It's not actually his body.
Keira Darkwind
You find his badge on the corpse of a Charr. That doesn't mean that Little Thom is dead though.....

It's actually all very clear if you read what everybody says when you run a quest instead of just click, accept, click, accept.
The body you find is not little thom, the dead guy just had his badge. And the quest want you to actually find that dead body with the badge, can't just run to where the real little thom is hanging out.

Althanis
I had the quest to deliver the message to Thom too, but when I went to the area it was like he was on a hill or something and I couldn't find the path to it. I was close enough to see the star but couldn't find the way up. I was then killed by some creeps (it was me and the healer henchman alone) and so I decided to abandon it cause it didn't yield any skill points or skills rewards :\

![]() ![]() Loviatar this happens with any quest when you are too far away from the quest object as soon as you are in a zone close enough and click on the quest the arrow will light up DrSLUGFly
You - "I have an important message for you from Farrah Cappo"
Little Thorn- "Can't talk... working." You - "But she said it was important, you just have to take this item." Little Thorn- "Sorry, busy..." You - "Look! You don't even have to read it, just take it and I'll tell her you got the message." Little Thorn- "But then you'd be lieing, that's immoral." You - "Please! It's an important message and it's for you." Little Thorn- "Sorry, working." Wiccy

i do believe it's a bug, and i already reported it.
Drakron
I got something like that with Gwen broken flute were the green marker was mot updating and still showing Gwen location instead of the flute.
Green markers sometimes are not "dead on" in the location, that expecially happens when its a "go kill X" quest were they roam the area and move away ftom the marker, anoying as hell but .... Lord Tanakia

Alright all, I'm about to solve all your problems. You're looking in the wrong place. Little Thorn is outside the Fort Ranik Mission. Warp to Fort Ranik, go outside, and you'll get your arrow. You find Little Thorn. It's not a bug, you just haven't looked hard enough. It's true he is a henchman later on, which...doesn't make much sense, but I'll let you figure out the rest for yourselves. So, for those of you who don't like to read let me compile.
Get the mission from Farrah Cappo Warp to Fort Ranik Exit Fort Ranik Follow your Arrow Deliver the Message Warp Back to Piken Square. Best of luck to you all. Drakron
You cannot deliver the message, the mission is finding a dead boby and its completed ... as said the end of the mission explains why Little is alive and a henchman later in the game.

Does it state anywhere officially his name is thorn and not thom? Looks like thom to me though i can see how the two would get mixed up. I consider that the r and n if it was thorn would be spaced slightly further apart if it was thorn as opposed to a m in thom.
egads
His name is definitely Little Thom.
In case you're not convinced: People often get his name wrong. Lewick

![]() I can only assume he had Alesia as his healer. Drakron
No, its not and that is because you did not read.
-spoiler- When you go back the quest giver says he lost the badge in a bet so it was not him but whoever won that bet. CatLady
His name is Thom, not Thorn? Well, no wonder he's been looking at me funny all this time!!!
![]() Seriously...I guess 1600 resolution and Large fonts makes the text hard to read - it sure looks like Thorn on-screen when it's not blown-up in size. haha! oh...and ever since one of the streaming updates, I've had the problem with the stars not updating too. For me, it happens if I get a quest and immediately go 'after' it - especially if the quest location is on the same area map. If it doesn't work then I have to tele to a town and try it again...that usually clears it up for me. Lewick

-spoiler- When you go back the quest giver says he lost the badge in a bet so it was not him but whoever won that bet. The body I found at the * on the map in Regent Valley from which it gave me the badge said "Corpse of Little Thom" so regardless of what the quest says, the body says otherwise. I've done this quest three times now. I even took a screenshot, but apparently my mouse moved during the screenshot because it doesn't show the hovered corpse name. And just for reference, I read everything. I enjoy the storyline. I even read the monument markers. I play with folks that do the same. Eclair
Have any of you noticed that sometimes when you go to outposts you lose a henchment randomly?
I've kept track for a bit, and its always Little Thom! Haha, I wonder if the Devs put this in on purpose, to portray is personality. dansamy
It's not random. That idiot is uselss and I try not to take him along.

Also, if you notice, Farah is a servant of Duke Barridin, who's holed up in Piken Square. The 'Little Thom' in Pre-Searing who you get the bearskin cloak for, and who teaches Warriors their first axe skill, is the same character model. |
