Look for the Temple of the Ages, in the northern part of Black Curtain. That's the portal to the Underworld.

like where do people find sotrm bows and stuff like that? Sure sounds like you've "beaten the game"... I don't think you have any idea what this game is all about, but I hope you learn and enjoy it like it is meant to be enjoyed.

i just found the temple of the ages the other day and i thought i was almost through the game i assumed that was a part of the game you reach after ascention also i've never explored the southern shiverpeak mountains yet so aparently there's much of the world that isn't necessarily part of the mission structure in order to get to the desert

don't beat up on him too much because this game is an evolving thing and thre's much to learn and do

Did you just go from one mission to the next? There's a pile of content in the middle, notably the black curtain area, which holds one of the most fun and challenging quests out there (Villainy of Galrath.)

You should go out exploring. There is some really fun stuff to do out in the middle portions of the game that have little to do with the missions.

You realize you can zone out of a mission zone, right? And that there are quests to be done outside of missions? Some of the quests are designed to nudge you into exploration outside of missions. Exploration is the most fun I have in this game. I find it much more fun than doing the missions.

Must agree. Just look for unexplored parts of your map and see if you can get there. Get some henchmen and just go. It's a beautiful world out there...

What he's trying to say is that this game is about joining guilds and guilds fighting each other. Allthough I fully agree that an important part of this game are the Guild Wars, the simple fact is that many people bought this game to play it like some 3D Diablo 3. And we must respect that.

Here is a link where you can find the world map:

You can plot your way to the temple with this map. Its not easy to get there though with only henchmen. Also beware that the underworld cannot be accessed with henchmen, and it needs a real good party to beat the level 29 monsters there!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the missions dont string completely together to get you to the desert - there are a few points where when the mission is complete, you're still in the same map pt/city/town/outpost as where you started said mission.......so at least a minimal amount of exploration would be needed still.

But yes - check the world map, you've missed a BOATLOAD of what this game has to offer....gawd you have allot of mapping to do. That's why both my main characters are either lvl 20 or close but haven't ascended and in fact the lvl 17 E/R hasn't even cleared the Wilds yet!!! She amasses her exp much faster than my Wa/El primary......leaving ashes in her wake

don't beat up on him too much because this game is an evolving thing and thre's much to learn and do Now i'm not gonna give away any spoilers but if you do attempt to explore the shouthen shiverpearks now, you will be stressed out and pissed alot, coz that place is hard after you get past the first 'easy' map. Anyway I don't want to give anything good away but be patient and you will be sent to the southern shiverpearks quite later in the game.

As for the underworld.... get alot of good players and some really capable monks.. the lvl 29 and 28 monsters are near the beggining and not the toughest compared to what other monsters there is...seriously the place sometimes seems a bit unfair to us.
