My Mo/War Build

(Estimated skill values as I am at work and on a Mac so I can't use any of the skill editors)

Healing 9 (just enough to get 3 pips on Mending)
Tactics 10
Swords 11

Use the judge's armor, the one that gives you the most physical armor.

Watchful Spirit
Mending
Live Vicariously
Bonetti's Defense
Gladiator's Defense {Elite}
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Healing Signet

Sometimes I will switch out
Healing Signet for Restore Life, for example when PvEing. I will sometimes keep it for PvP, depending on the team, but most of the time if I am ressing it's too late because if I ress someone they are just going to get killed again instantly.

How this build works:

Start off by equiping your +energy censor. Cast Mending, Watchful Spirit, and Live Vicariously on yourself. If there is another warrior or ranger who you think is going to live past the first 30 seconds, cast Live Vicariously on him too. Then equip your sword and shield. If you casted the 4th enchantment on someone you will have to switch quickly or when you reach 0 mana your 4th enchantment will cancel as the censor has a -1 energy regen. At this point you will have 0 mana, but you will also have +5 pips of health regen and you will gain ~9hp any time you or the guy you casted Live Vicariously hits someone. This is a lot of health. A LOT of health.

Same thing with every other builld, hit the monks and the mesmers first. Use Galrath's Slash and Final Thrust. If you are getting attacked use Bonetti's Defense as soon as possible as it will give you energy to use Gladiator's Defense when you need to. Bonus points if you only cast 3 enhancements as you will have 1 pip energy regen, more than enough for this build. If you ever fight a character in melee, use Bonetti's Defense if you don't have enough energy, then use Gladiator's Defense at a strategic time. This will get even the most powerful War/Mo down to half health and allow you to use Galrath's Slash and Final Thrust to finish him off. If you get DoTed or hexed and your life regen is neutral or even negative, fall back and use your Healing Signet. Unless of course, your monk is healing you.

Pretty simple, pretty straightforward. With this build I was able to kill any warrior, and take on 2 War/Mo's at a time and win easily. This build aslo pretty much decimates casters as they just can't do enough DPS to put a dent in your regen. To my knowledge the only build that will beat this is one that focuses on enhancement stripping. Even then, it is pretty easy to recast your buffs in the middle of a fight by just equiping your censor.

Thoughts? Comments? Ideas?

Sounds like an intersting idea. I would love to see more none warrior primary builds running around using weapons.

I don't know too much about Warriors, so I'll leave the real critiquing(sp?) to someone else, But I can help you ouy with the attribute dispersion.

I think it might be better for you to go with:
Healing: 8(+?)
Tactics: 10
Sword Mastery: 12

You can just throw in a rune and/or a scalp design to help with the extra point in Healing Prayers.

I don't like watchful spirit, mainly for it's 15 energy cost. I'd suggest hamstring instead(If this attack hits, your target is crippled for 12 seconds, slowing his movement.) I've only used a warrior in a couple of pvp battles, but it seems like that one of the main problems is that most people run away.

The energy on Watchful Spirit doesn't matter as you cast it in the begining of battle before the gates open and forget about it.

I prefer Vigorous Spirit to Live Vicariously personally

I was running some numbers to compare monk heals and whipped up a table to help you compare some of your options for healing enchantments:

I have the spreadsheet too, if you'd like to check my math.

In the grand tradition of Ensign's skill effectiveness guide
(Or my own cheesy version of it anways), it goes over the raw healing power and efficiency of some of your enchantments, and how much time and energy you'll be putting into using them for a full minute. You probably won't get the full listed healing out of vigorous spirit and live vicariously, because a certain amount of your time is going to be spent switching targets/chasing down targets instead of fighting.

As a frontline fighter, you'll probably want your heals to take up as little of your time as possible, saving it instead for swinging your weapon, so low recast enchantments are a good way to go. I'd recommend swapping out watchful spirit for vigorous spirit and healing signet for healing breeze. Vigorous spirit requires half the energy per minute as a maintainable, and will give you just as much health as live vicariously, while breeze can give you strong bursts of healing while you fight as needed. At level nine healing prayers, breeze and mending should both stack for a full ten pip health regen, I think.

Of course, as the bottom of the figure shows, having a dedicated healing monk in your party is strictly better than anything you have available, but you can't always count on having one in PvE and Arena environments, which you sound interested in. Oh, and you'll need a snare of some kind for arena!

Thanks for the information everyone. I'll have to look into some of the alternatives posted here.
