What exactly is "Ascension Armor"?

I noticed in the update, A.net said that they were going to be changing the look of certain "Ascension armors"; this week's was Geomancer.
Now, this is probably a "n00b" question, but what is qualifies as "Ascension Armor"? Is it the armor at Droknar's Forge, or is it the armor you get from Granite Citadel/Marhan's Grotto?

That thought crossed my mind when I read the updates as well. I'm not sure if it applies to the 15k armors that weren't properly skinned or all armor past the crystal desert. If it's all armor past the crystal desert then I may well log into a different looking set of armor than I had last night. However if it only applies to the 15k armor, I can't justify spending 60k to look better. But that's just me.

I'm hoping that it applies to the Droknar's Forge armor as well... but I doubt it. As much as I enjoy this game, I find it a little sick to be spending 15k on looks alone. (Which I'm guilty of doing, but that's not the point! )

You can get to Granite Citadel before Ascension, I thought? I'm not 100% certain, though.

you can. but it's a long ways. a long, long ways. you have to go through lornar's pass (which is full of level 22+ bad guys.. good luck with a group of 6 low level) from beacon's perch, and continue heading south through dreadnaught's drift, snake dance, and through camp rankor into talus chute, across into the ice dome, frozen forest, north through copperhammer mines, and all the way across spearhead peak.

as i said.. long long ways. you'll go through 3 areas before you reach the next outpost too.

i've only seen one person so far who has done it, who basically had a group of powerful infused guys escort him the whole way.

Isn't it the same with Droknar's Forge?

The armor at Droknar's Forge looks the same as everywhere else. It costs 1500 per piece. The armor you get at the citadel and in the fissure looks better but has the exact same AL as the Droknar's set. That costs 15,000 per peice, and requires special crafting materials.

The screenshots forum on this site has all sorts of screenshots of the different looking armor.
