Barbed Signet
Sacrifice 10% maximum health. You steal 18-52 health from target foe.
Signet - 0 energy - 2 cast - 30 recharge

hmm say your lvl 20 and have 480 life.

if you sacrifise 10% of your max health (48) you steal 18-52 health from target foe.

does this mean you gain health and the target looses health?

or does this mean you just get some health. if this is correct, then whats the point of this skill?

sorry for all the questions, im just tryin to expand my knowledge with other proffesions that i havent played much.

Does this mean you gain health and the target looses health? In a nutshell, yes. You lose a bit of health then steal it from your opponent. I don't think it's worth the space on the skillset.

you are correct, you steal 18-52 health from the target foe. For your example at level 20 with 480 hp you sacrifice 48 hp and steal 18-52 (determined by your blood skill level) from your opponent.

There are a couple purposes to this skill.
1. Life stealing skills ignore armor, so you are assured of doing the full amount of damage to your target and 52 is not too shabby. The signet makes a decent finishing move on a fleeing foe. The 2 second cast time is a bit slow, but it doesn't require energy so you can get that last shot in before the target gets away.

2. This can be used as a trigger for dark aura since it involves sacrifice. You can get a net gain of about 4 health on the signet and do additional damage through dark aura. All told your target will take about 90 points of damage. While you take just over 20.

Personally, I think the long recycle and 2 second casting time make this skill pretty poor.

i agree, i was reading up on some of the necro skills, and that one just struck me as a totaly stupid skill if the target DIDNT loose any health, so i had to find out if he/she did loose health.

im sure ill have some more questions up for debate as the days come closer to the release, so i hope you guys dont mind answering some of my questions.

i find this forum much more active than any other gw forum ive been to.
oggaming guildwars forum has broken down, and it may take days before i get a response. also there, some of the members are just down right mean. too much sarcasim and not enough quality posting made me move over to this little corner. i like it here so far, and i hope i havent offended anyone in any way.

thx for the help guys.

Yeah. I'd only suggest this if you have lots of bonuses to your armor that drops your health.

Yea, there are several necro skills that I find to be nearly useless. Like blood renewal. No matter how many points you put into the skill, it doesn't increace the ammount of regen narrows you get? Your still stuck at a net gain of 60 health! That may be ok in the early levels, but it just gets steadily worse. Not to mention with the rescent changes made to it you now get LESS health from it that you would have before, 132 is not 33% of your max health (at lvl 20).

Sigh, I really hope they fix some of the blood skills for release.

Sigh, I really hope they fix some of the blood skills for release. i agree, the necro skills that require 20% or more sacrifised health, i wouldnt touch them, especially in pvp because you need all the life you can get in pvp.
