The 100% Sure Way for a Ranger to Defeat Mirror

Yesterday I finally defeated my mirror. I tried for hours yesterday, getting raped each time. Finally, I decided to give it one more go with a little strategy I thought up. Here it goes. I guarantee that if you're a ranger and follow this strat exactly, you will beat your mirror every time (Unless you're R/W).

1. Equip at least 6 ritual spells.

2. Equip power shot.

3. Do not equip any more skills other than the ones listed above. Put all of your attribute points in marksmanship.

4. At the beginning of the fight, unleash 1 long-distance power shot then run up next to the mirror. The mirror should be doing all of the natural rituals. Keep pelting arrows at him, using power shot whenever it recharges.

5. By the time your mirror has completed all the rituals, he will be between 1/2-3/4 dead. Since you're right next to him, he will use his pathetically weak axe. Just keep pelting arrows at him with power shot. You will finish him off quickly and ascend.

wow, good job... Rangers are soo easy to kill your Mirror. if it took you two-three hours that's pretty funny. anywho i just went into fight my Mirror and killed it the first time, same with a lot of people. anywho i just hoped you did not try and use troll urgent to heal beacuse that would have been the worst first choice.

i defeated my ranger mirror on my first try with 4 nature rituals, kindle arrows and throw dirt... killed him in about 30 seconds

i'm a ranger secondary, and decided to just use those skills (mesmer mirror leaves you absolutely no energy after 10 seconds).

i equipped about 4 nature rituals, distracting shot, and troll inguent.
mirror spends tons of time casting rituals, run up right next to it so it switches to melee weapon, and it can't use distracting shot. hit with regular arrows, then when it uses troll inguent, use distracting shot so it can't heal. it will probably cast another ritual or two since they have died by now, rinse and repeat until it's dead. ^_^

I just did 8 rituals. He didn't even finish casting them all before he was dead, in less than 40 seconds.

There is an easy easy easy way to defeat the Ranger mirrior, and it made me feel stupid.

1. Equip Troll Ungent and Distracting shot (I'm not joking).

2. Walk up to the mirror. He'll pull out an axe, which means he can't use Distracting shot.

3. Use Troll Ungent to heal yourself, use Distracting Shot if he tries to use his.

I agree, I knew the miror image quest was coming up soon, but wasnt sure when.
I ended up going in with my regular pve skillset, troll unguent, ignite arrows, double shot, distracting shot, and 3-4 pet skills.

I had no problem killing him (me).
Honestly killing lvl 17 bog scales with spirit shackles is tougher for me.

I killed my mirror on the first try with all my regular skills intact, ie no cheating. If you're skillful, you can easily do it. Same with my W/Mo.

My El/Mo killed the mirror on the second try (the first time I didn't really know what was going on).

My Wa/Ra killed him on his first time.

My Mo/Ra took quite a bit longer...that character has been 100% for support, so I had to really change the skillset otherwise the battles literally lasted forever with all the healing on both sides.
