Hello,

Is there a general concensus as to what type of damage is best to use through out most of the game? (i.e. lightning damage, fire damage, ect.)

I have an almost max damage axe for my warrior that has only recently gotten to Borlis Pass, so have plenty of game ahead of me. Before I added on any particular type of damage I was hoping to find an answer to this question.

Also what about PvP damage types? Any suggestions there? My main focus is on PvE, but I might as well ask about PvP while I'm here.

But is Fire going to be just as good later in the game?

I suppose I could just overwrite the upgrade on it with a different upgrade to get different damage types later (if I read the post about upgrade items correctly) But I was hoping to find a good type of damage for the whole game (probably doesn't exsist though. )

Lightning and Earth are all around good elements for a sword/axe/hammer in PvE if you do not want to be constantly switching back and forth between fire and ice.

All elemental damages are good against warriors. Against rangers, it's best to use weapons without any elemental damage as their armors have +30 against elemental and another +15 against fire, lightening or cold (but no earth).

The whole point of the game is that no one of anything (damage type/build/skill set) will work in all situations. You have to adjust your character according to what you are facing/how you plan to play.

Fire works about 90% of the time. The elemental chart in this game is really screwed up. Fire damage seems to do normal damage or 2x damage against most monsters. Switch to an ice hilt when you get to the ring of fire islands though.

Well I personaly belive that only use a elemental modifier if you are a conjuerer (W/E) because they require it. If you have a very very big bank roll, go for a 5 steal vamp, if you are tight on cash you can pick up a zealous, sundering, or furious for a couple hundred. But I don't think you will be keeping that axe for long since it is not max damage. You will definately find a max damage axe somewhere along your adventures, maybe even a purple or rare axe. But for shiverpeaks, yes I suggest fire but shiverpeaks is not a long area. Fire will still hold you good for majority of the game if you realy want to use it though.
