Gun Giddy
The guide has a lot of info for the PvE portion of the game. I haven't really played the PvP part, so I can not give you a good opinion on how well they cover the PvP portion of the game.
Professions
The guide details each profession, looking at the pros and cons of each and how well each profession pairs up with another. It also list all of the skills with basic information. For the elite skills it will list what boss to nab it from.
Maps
The guide has color map for each area that was available at press time. Each map has been labled with points of intrest (collectors, crafters, and other people) as well as what type of creature or creatures you are likely to encounter in that area of the map.
The World Map Poster that is advertised on the cover is not all that great. It looks like the unexplored world map from the game, just with the towns and areas tagged.
Missions
Each mission has instructions on how to complete both the primary and bonus missions. There is a color map included with each description. The mission maps display information like the world maps but also plots out a course for you to follow to complete the mission.
Side Quest
The first half of the games side quest have brief explanations on how to complete them. As you progress through the guide and the areas the details on side quests become less and less informative. It comes to a point where they just stop telling you about them. It seems a little hurried in this portion of the guide.
Charts Charts and more Charts
There are charts on salvaging (what type of materials you will get from each item type) Charts on weapons and upgrades, charts on collectors, charts on creatures, and charts on armor. They have charts on anything and everything that could possibly require a chart. I really like this part of the guide, but I'm just a chart type of guy. After all, Excel is a close friend of mine.
Personal Opinion
I give the Guide 4/5 stars (thats 4 out of 5.) I think the guide is well worth the cover price. Of course I do believe searching this forum and a couple of others you could find all the same information (except maybe the nice charts) contained in the guide for free.
