Skill Level Above 12

I notice that each skill shows its min-max variables.. And I was wondering that if you modify your skill level with a rune to a level above 12, if it will have any effect on your skills.

(Example: Lets say my Blood Magic is 12 - Well of Blood lasts 18 seconds 5 regen [max] what if I use a minor rune and bump it to 13.. wil it make the well stronger?)

I think so, but you cannot use say 2 minor runes, it will only go +1. My current swordmanship is 13, infact i have a sword which i use need 13 swordmanship.

you can find items too that already have +1's on them. I have a headpiece with a +1 to my main att. making it 13

I think once you have received the max for a skill (Blood magic is 12 I think) any additional points you put in there is wasted. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody please. I believe my Necro now has 13 Blood Magic and I am realizing that there was no difference in spells from 12 to 13 so now I am gonna take a point out and put it into Death Magic or curses....

Skills do continue to get better when you increase attribute levels above 12. For example, Chain Lightning does 82 damage at Air Magic 12, but does 106 damage at Air Magic 16.

I believe I saw a study on this awhile back that showed you do indeed get a bump as you go over 12, but the return on investment is not as great as you got leading up to the 12.

I'm now a lvl 15 fire mage and my flare is now 46. I just checked you only get 2 point increase per level after level 12. So Robos is right.

There's a couple common misconceptions abou this though.

First: You can't put points in over 12. This starts the rumor that points over 12 do not matter, when in fact they do.

Second: Runes of the same type don't stack (except for -hp). So you can't put +6 to a skill on your armor. You can only have +1 +2 or +3 to a skill on an item. Hats can come with an inate +1 to a skill. So the best you can hope to do on a skill is 16 currently.
