I think it is possible to get it Pre-Searing, but some people say it is impossible. I know for sure you can get some level 5 Black Bears after you leave Pre-Searing, but that is a long way.

You need to go to lornars pass.

Not really, you can get one as a bonus for the iron mines quest. Just keep progressing in the game, you'll eventually get there, and bears are really, really common. And they don't interrupt your charm animal spell. As a consolation, i'll tell you that pets all have the exact same specs (except the stalker and black widow), they have the same speed, health, and the bear's "brutal mauling" is cosmetic as well.

Also, if u get rid of your curremt pet, ex: mine is still the stalker, wich is now level 10. If I charm another one, will it be level 10 also?

No, the pet will not be the same lvl as your old pet. Most pets post-searing are lvl 5, the spider in Uw is 20.

Edit: it is post not pre searing pets that are lvl 5, sorry

Black Widows are level 20 when encountered. Of course you'll be level 20 too, so it's fitting.

So, what I read, or what I think I read, is that one can only have one pet at time. And if one tries to charm another one, the old one... what?, dissapears?, dies?

I'm quite fond to my cat, so I'm not going to try.

Y'can't charm another one. You have to give it to the Tamer outside of Ascalon in order to get a new pet. At least, that's what I remember...

Thank you. And I'm not going to sell my cat to some tamer, no way. Like I said, she is my precious.

I had a MoA pet once...I named him Boco the Chocobo...then he kept doing that trilling noise...and he went straight to the trader.

I did party with an R/Mo (i believe) who had a lvl 15 Moa. It was tall. As in...a foot taller. If I can recall. Or maybe it was just standing on a higher part of a dune in Crystal.

My experience; I recently decided to change my Pet (again), sold him to the trader outside Ascalon and went in search of a Bear. Luckily i had just arrived at Droknors Forge and the place is swarming with Bears outside. I have read many people having problems with charming animals, but all i have ever done, (and this worked with the Bear also), was to attempt to charm him while my hechmen attacked him, even if they kill him, i resurect him and hey presto i have the Animal, in this case a Bear. This has been my 4th Pet, and each time i have done the same thing and succesfully charmed him every time.
This may not help you if you havnt reached Droknors Forge yet, but may help for the future .

Once i have changed my Pet, they do indeed start from a low level 5 or 6 i think. But i have read and found out myself, that they increase their levels much faster. E.g. my Wolf was lvl.20 when i changed him for a Bear. Bear was lvl.6, but started to increase levels much more quickly than my first pet. Within a few hours of playing he was up to Lvl.20 same as my Wolf. So despite starting low, they do increase much faster than before.
