I see this elite used a lot on W/Mos. I can't help but wonder if W/Mos wouldn't be better off with a longer-lasting elite like Shield of Deflection or something. Sure, it costs more energy, but it lasts longer, too, and the benefits are better, as well.

Yeah he does, I just capped Healing Hands from him the other day. Maybe you are just having bad luck getting him to spawn...

Rull Browbeater, an Etin boss, is most commonly found directly to the west of the entrance to Ember Light Camp. Hold L Alt and look to your left when you enter the zone, if he isnt there, rezone, and try again.

Overall i feel that Mark of protection works wonders. On my R/Mo I use it if the monk or something is taking a heavy beating and the person ususally doesnt die. It does have a long cooldown which is the downside but i dont use that many prot prayers as a R/Mo neway I think its my only one. At 9 prot prayers its heals and negates at a max of 38 so they can take 76 dmg and still not take and dmg at all

For my purposes I feel that mark of protecition is far superior. It is an integral part of my farming Mo/W. Not only does it heal but negate damage and turn it into health. I use Balthazar's Spirit, Essence Bond, and Bonetti's Defense to build my energy and the 10 seconds of invulnerability this spell gives is amazing. In those ten seconds my whole energy bar will fill from nothing to max. I've seen healing hands used in a similar manner but it just isn't as powerful.
The only thing that is really any better about this spell is the shorter cool down time and the snappy casting time in case you're fighting interupters.

I could farm tengu with MoP but not with Hands due to a lower max hp. It's solid for farming but the recharge makes it trash for pve/pvp.

Well, Healing seed is pretty much the Monk equivalent to the rangers healing spring, it simply heals every time somone takes damage. Now hands is probably an elite because of cost/casting time, and overall benefits. Although I don't use it much myself, im sure some people do. Its very handy in helping new peeps through earlier missions, you can heal them all the way with that spell

Yeah, I like HS. I always use it on the Warrior that gets all the beating in our group.

The thing with Healing Hand is that you can cast it on yourself. Healing Seed you can only cast on 'other' ally...not that that should really make it elite but if you look at it it cost 5 energy...5!! and takes 1/4 of a sec to cast....where as seed costs 15 energy and takes 2 seconds to cast....that im sure is what makes it an elite...

I think the amount of life gained just doesn't make it worth using in comparison to other elites. I would go with...well...just about any other healing or divine favor elite over this one

this skills elite only because it was being abused to farm, in conjunction with another elite, rather than fix the skill, they just slapped the elite on it.
right now, its pretty bad. short duration, and it only triggers on attacks. the only way this skill is helpful, is if people are dumb enough to keep waving wands at you. any player who uses attacks as their main form of damage, more than likely is going to hit you harder than 20 hp. so basically, your getting shielding hands that covers 7 more hp, and only works on attacks for your elite slot. so basically, your just going to reduce the damage their wars and rangers do to you, while their casters proceed to own you as normal. really efficient elite.

If im not mistaken, it says for Healing hands "Whenever target ally is struck by an attack" ,So it really only heals when a warrior is hacking away or getting attacked by a wand etc. Mark of Prot heals all damage except health degen, so Prot spirit + MoP and your invincible to everything except hp dgen for 10 seconds.

IMO this functions as more of an healing version of shielding hands. One thing I may have noticed (I can't confirm) is that you take damage before the heal. I remember I was in the tournament arenas and killed a guy who just cast it. I wasn't sure if someone removed the enchantment or not. Can anyone confirm this?

this is a very weak elite. Its almost like shielding hands except that it doesnt take up an elite spot.

Shielding hands is taking off 15 damage per hit. Healing hands (via adding health per hit) is taking off 21 damage per hit. I dont think a net healing bonus if an hit is below 21 and a faster cast time justifies this to be an elite spell. Furthermore shielding hands has a faster recharge and protects against all purpose damage! (balth aura/IW anybody?)
even if healing hands was not an elite id still pick shielding hands over it.
One way to modestly beef this skill up is to bump the duration to 15 seconds.

What is it with this skill really it doesn't seems to heal for that much and haveing s 25 recharge time is just to long orsons work way better than and has faster recharge time.this elite should be the version of it only it should heal for ten more points and set loke this 5 energy 1 activation and 5 sec recharge time and heals for 10 or 15 more than orisons it is like the difference with heal other and word of healing.

I heard from several people that healing hands was taken out of perdition rock. I also heard that all monk skills were taken out of the fire islands. This guy said "It's like finding an angel in hell" lol So does anyone know for a fact here i can get this skill. PLEASE!!!

It is still there I went and got it for my Monk and Warrior and all the Monk elites are there still.The person telling you this is just playing around with you if they were moved there would be an update and an annoucment from Anet don't believe it untill you hear it from them first.You get it from and giant ettin becarefull as there are hydra around him and he has restorelife to res the hydra .

In a group as a healer monk, (me/mo in my case) in loading Fast Cast and Heling prayers, would Healing Seed be as effective as Healing hands, The fast casting should cut down the cast time. After you use Healing Seed, use Energy Tap to gain back the energy.
Any comments on if Healing Seed+Energy tap w/ Fast Cast & Max healing would be as good as Healing Hands?

Did it by myself using Henchmen as a W/Mo. It took quite a few tries to kill him once I got him to spawn. I found him in the west near the Tower surrounded by Hydras.

is it still on perdition rock? I went out there with my W/Mo and nothing showed... I found a necro boss and mesmer and elementalist in the spot where he used to be found.. is he still on the west side of the island?
